I'm like 200 issues behind in reading this. :o

Which version of G2 were you going to be writing about? The Marvel series or the UK Fleetway one?

Both! Though the focus will be UK.

Awesome! There's comparatively little info out there about the UK G2 books. Even the Wiki treats them as an embarrassment to be kinda glossed over. I look forward to reading what you have to say about them!

(Hopefully less than four years after you write it, this time!)

As it happens, I'm rereading the US G2 book right now. I'd forgotten (or maybe just never noticed, it's been over a decade and I hadn't read many comics at the time) how wobbly the first few issues were. And that intro in the G.I. Joe book...damn, people complain about Furmanisms but he's got nothing on Larry Hama in that regard. Or maybe I'm just sick of his style after all the 90s Wolverine I've read lately.

It's that G.I. Joe and the decision to split the comic into two separate story strands (which I like) which happens in #2 -3 and the use of filler artists in #2 that make those first few issues feel uneven to me. Once they've worked out that Yaniger is best suited to the back-up, thanks to his slow (but worth it) work rate, the book feels a lot more settled and sets into a good groove for its run.

I'm looking forward to hearing and learning about the UK G2 run. All four issues of it. Still, that's one more than Animated lasted over here, IIRC.

And yet another new era! And, continuity switches at the title goes along aside, the last one as I look at the first issue of the 2007 film comic!

This was an amazing undertaking, dalek! You should feel proud for having finished it.

How many printed volumes does this translate to?
