Well, now that the Archive is up and running normally again, I can tell you about what I learned last week about the new TF3 movie.

They were here in Houston a week ago for one day of filming. I signed up to be an extra, was I wasn't selected, sadly. What pisses me off though is that I know some people that did, and they don't even like the movies. They just signed up because they wanted to be in but don't actually give a rats behind about TF at all.

Anyway...one friend (who is a TF fan and super stoked to get selected) gave me the scoop of what he learned on set:
SPOILER! (select to read)
The filming was done on-site at the Johnson Space Center. When he went in for fitting, they had period costumes for flight controllers, NASA officials, and 1960's military uniforms. However, they were also fitting for 1970s-ish gov't spooks, ala men-in-black, what looked like more modern military uniforms, and (what he was selected for) N.E.S.T. soldiers.

They filmed in the old MOCR (Mission Operations Control Room) that most everyone is probably familiar with from Apollo 13. But I don't know what the folks were seeing (other than an Apollo moon landing), they were just told to that the screens would be filled in with CGI later.

My friend playing the N.E.S.T. soldier said he filmed over in the huge vaccuum chamber and they were transporting/guarding what he was told were "Decepticon brains."
So, that's all I know. Everyone was extras, anything said by the production people to the extras could all be part of dis-information...it's not like the extras really needed to know what was going on. But this is what they were told. We'll see how this all plays in to the story line.

Maybe one of the early spacecraft was a transformer.

I've thought that as well. I'll even go so far as to name who I think it is:
SPOILER! (select to read)
Silverbolt. And he's now a space shuttle.
Complete guess and speculation on my part.

If that's true, then we'll have to start worrying about Michael Bay's lame jokes regarding a certain trait of this character....

I'm going to agree though, if it's an Autobot....

If it's a Decepticon, my bet is placed on
SPOILER! (select to read)
BlitzWing as something similair to Jetfire...

Misplaced spoiler thingers make my head hurt. Speculation isn't a spoiler.

In this case, I think it is a spoiler. Because:
SPOILER! (select to read)
Both Silverbolt being in the movie and Discovery being a transformer are spoilers
I just speculated that the two spoilers are related...which is why I kept in spoiler thingers.

Your speculation is also based on something I would consider a spoiler, especially since one of the set guys told me that it was never even supposed to get out that they were filming here and what they were filming. It was supposed to be a big secret...but then Paramount showed up with their huge truck and busses that said "Paramount" on them, so there was no keeping it secret after that.

I was just erring on the side of caution.

I don't see the point of spoiler tags at all in this thread, seeing as how everyone's been fair warned there's spoilers in the topic title. That said, I was more referring to Rattrap's post.

Cliffy- Fight? If you were involved, maybe. :p

Sorry, I don't fight girls :p

That doesn't work quite as well as smack talk when the person you're directing it at is actually female, does it?

It wasn't until this argument that I remembered who
SPOILER! (select to read)
Silverbot
is. I think I had him confused with Silverstreak.
SPOILER! (select to read)
As it is, a robot who used to be Apollo 13, is scared of flying and is Uncle Phil would be awesome.

Really, I think I would prefer a version of the character closer to his Beast Machines incarnation than G1.

Entertainment Tonight featurette is up on their website. Seriously, don't get too excited. Seriously.

And this: possible TF: Dark of the Moon movie poster. It doesn't look made up, anyway.

It's out in January???

Yeah, anyway. Blatant fake poster. The person who's mocked it up has blatantly misunderstood the title of the film.

The movie has nothing to do with the Earth's satellite. It's all about the terrifying arrival of everybody's favourite killer bunny rabbit.

MOON.

If there's no yellow rabbit in this film, I'm calling foul.

Im always amused by how the posters portray the robots as massive.

Actually made it somewhere else weeks ago. This thread just isn't high on my list of priorities.

Yeah, it's a spoiler thread... don't worry about 'em.

NB: TFU.info (very reasonably, given the amount of bandwidth they get through anyway) blocks remote loading of images.
