Universe 2.0 toy repaint speculation

Many of the Universe toys, especially the Legends, will probably be repainted at some point. I thought it might be a little fun to make some predictions.

Swindle from Hound (Legends and/or Deluxe) would be nice.

Megatron could be Bludgeon.

I'd be surprised if Inferno doesn't get a Haz-Mat version of someone.

Some would be more difficult. A new Cosmos would have to be a new character probably. Cyclonus is Cyclonus, a different color character of him would be strange. Maybe Armada.

Silverbolt as Darkwing could work, but I don't know if it would $27 work.

Inferno could (and probably will) be reworked into Grapple at some point.

Onslaught could be recolored into any of several similar Micromasters.

Energon Slugslinger could be recolored to match its G1 counterpart more closely and fit right in.

I'm hoping for Inferno=>Hotspot myself. That'd be win. The Legends Special Team Leaders pack version was awesome.

Inferno into Grapple is a no brainer. Along with Sidesipe to Red Alert, I'd also guess Sunstorm too.

My own wish list.
Ironhide => Skidz
Silverbolt => Whisper (another one from the air patrol like Storm cloud)
Onslaught => Hardhead (but that's a remold)

Galvatron repainted into Actionmaster Megatron's tank. Bit of an odd choice for something to be the basis for a repaint, but there's a certain amount of similarity between the two.

Cyclonus could get a repaint into BM Jetstorm, if only as a nod to the Botcon exclusive from several years back. Seems like the kind of odd thing they'd do.

Yeah, Inferno into Hotspot would be cool and different. Another option, if they wanted to be really weird, is sticking a new head on it and repainting it into RID Optimus.

The mold doesn't work for Arcee. IT's too different in design, transformation, and alt mode. However, it is very similar to Elita-1, particularly in transformation and at least the front end and cockpit (including the head being behind the canopy in vehicle mode)

Even though they used the same base mold in G1, I can't see it. There's not much chance they could turn the new Inferno into a crane (and if they did, Grapple would end up with a crane armature attached to his forearm). As for what I'd like to see...Prowl redecoed as Flash would be neat, although it will never happen.

I could see Silverbolt getting made over as Brainstorm.

Galvatron and Cyclonus are basically useless for straight-up repaints because they're so distinctively a certain character. With a new head, Cyc could become a random late-run jet like Cloudburst or Needlenose or someone.

I'd like to see Onslaught repainted as either Guzzle or Roadgrabber.

Also, some non-Universe molds I wouldn't mind seeing dusted off...Energon Sharkticon deserves to be re-released in some capacity. Maybe as Splashdown or some other generic-looking aquatic Pretender (not so much Finback, since Sharkticon's original colour scheme basically looks like IDW Finback anyway)?

And Cybertron Landmine absolutely needs to be redecoed as Scoop.

None of that is a reason for them not to do Arcee. Case in point, Universe Blaster has naught but a paint scheme in common with his G1 namesake.

That aside I think a redeco into Elita-1 would be a swell idea.

I'm not saying that they shouldn't make an Arcee. They most assuredly should. They just shouldn't use the Cybertron Override mold to do so. Arcee needs her own original mold. As for the Universe Blaster. I can't stand it. I didn't like the Cybertron Soundwave to begin with. That's not Soundwave to me, nor is the "Blaster" repaint, Blaster.

I quite share you dislike of that mold, and I also would like to see an orginal mold of Arcee (based of IDW?) that doesn't transform into a motorcycle. But if it's a choice between a redeco of Override and no Arcee at all, I think Override is close enough. Of course, I'm also curious to see what (if anything) Animated will show in that department, and she's also rumoured to be in TF2. So, we might be Arcee'd out, so to speak, by the end of 2009.

I'd go more G1 in design personally. the Animated line is supposed to be coming out with an Arcee, though I don't know when. As for the movie rumors
