NES game suggestions

Post by DrSpengler »

I haven't seen a decent NES game at my local Funcoland in a long ass time. I've gotten so many I'm wondering if there are any left that are worth paying for.

Here's my collection:

The Legend of Zelda
Zelda II: the Adventure of Link
Donkey Kong Arcade
Wrecking Crew
Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt
Super Mario Bros. 2
Super Mario Bros. 3
Castlevania
Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest
Castlevania 3: Dracula's Curse
Metroid
Contra
Super Contra
Mega Man
Crystalis (so much like Zelda it isn't even funny...but the game kicks ass)
Ghostbusters
Ghostbusters 2
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3
Street FIghter 2010 (Worst. Street Fighter Game. Ever.)
Bases Loaded 3 (only baseball game I ever liked)
Techmo Super Bowl (only footbal game I ever liked)
Dragon Power (I bought it to laugh at it)
Flying Dragon (the F*CK was I thinking?!?!)
A Nightmare on Elm Street
Friday the 13th

That's my list. My wants are:

Bubble Bobble
Donkey Kong jr.
Mario Brothers (complete that gap in my Mario collection)
Donkey Kong 3 (possibly)

That's about it. I don't like RPGs (Final Fantasy is out) and Megaman games are way too expensive.

Anyway, I need suggestions! What else do I need!?

I've never played any of the Metal Gear games (even MGS2). How is Metal Gear for the NES?

Thanks.

What about Batman? Or the Ninja Gaiden series, perhaps? Punch Out is always good, just try to find the one with Tyson...

Hardest. Game. Ever.

Anyway, I suggest

Double Dragon
Elevator Action
Monopoly
Top Gun
Top Gun: Second Mission
Marble Madness (1st 3d game:D)
10-Yard Fight (best football game ever)
Battle Tank

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters
(this game makes full use of the systems limited capabilities and besides that, is a kick @$$ game! :D

Mega Man 2 and 3.
Any other Mega Man games on the NES system too. Like Mega Man Socer(Don't remember if it was on the NES or not).

Arcanoid was fun too.

FF1 was fun. Though there wasn't much in the way of story. Though I've only played the ROM. I've never played the cardridge.
THE WIND, THE CLOUD, AND THE ADVENTURE....

Your azz needs to pick up a copy of the one and only Excitebike. The game was light years ahead of its time... because of the Create-Your-Own Track feature. Also, the noise you make when you crash is worth the price of admission in itself.

Seeing as how it only costs a grand total of $1.99 I might as well give it a shot.
