Botcon: who's going?

Post by Clay »

I'll be heading up to a friend in Louisville on Friday, and then onto Cincinnati early Saturday morning. I don't plan to spend much time there (I view the convention as the biggest yard sale EVAR, so I'm going with a shopping list), but if anyone else will be there, I would oblige to chat for a bit.

Wish I was. I'm just having the set shipped to me. I probably could have gone, but I didn't feel like traveling that far. I'd love to do it one year though.

Nope, not going this year due to job search. I hate being a contractor.

So at this yard sale, are there decent prices, or is it all convention priced?

Why in the hell are they having it in Cincinnati? Does that even count as a city? They couldn't have in a civilized setting, like the DC beltway?!?

Too far for me. When they have one somewhere on the west coast I'll go. I'll just stick with SDCC this year, if I even get to go to that, my money situation will have to change fast.

5 Hours for me. But if it wasn't for the fact I have to do a speech this week on Internet Censorship, I'd go.

When I went in 2006, I noticed that virtually every dealer had tubs of loose parts to pick through. Prices were cheap, and also the ability to haggle in person helps. I'm going after some lost Micromasters, and my Computron hasn't had a left arm in 20 years... I'd also like to look at some the recent Japanese things in person before spending any cash on them.

What day are you arriving? We can eat lunch on Saturday if you'd like.
