ROTF Long Haul

Post by Pun-3X »

I knew that I was going to paint this guy up some when I got him. I had no idea I would be doing as much as I did. And while he could probably use a touch more here and there, I'm very happy with how he's turned out. Only thing that really bugs me is the dirt look has that spot-spray effect to it. But I like to think of it as really large mud splotches all over. He is a dump truck after all. :D

Close-ups. I know the cables are depicted black, but I thought the silver/gold would jump out more.

Love those teeth.

Detail close-ups. Front arm...

...and back. Plus the pistons behind the knee (forgot to take a shot of those, but you can see them in the next two images)

Also did the "workings" between the fingers.

And the hauler, working bed and all.

And these last two are just for fun. I took the concepts from the video game which features Long Haul with mortar cannons and flamethrowers. Since he has blades instead of cannons, I decided to relocate the mortar launchers in his back wheel assembly. Shoulder launchers actually work pretty well for the guy.

And flamethrowers, in the appropriate place. :)

Hope you all enjoy. As always, let me know what you think.

Well done. I love your photoshop skills on the last two images.

he looks awesome. i only wish his arms were a bit chunkier truthfully, but it's amazing how he is very similar to his g1 self. and it's awesome to note how you capture the small details in the toy too without much difficulty, congrats :)

Nice job, those very simple touch ups you did really made the difference on the figure.

I can't get the flamethrowers on mine to work. Am I not pressing the right button or something?

That must be it! Figures that Hasbro would ship the toy without any petrol for the weapons.

I have the same problem with my Henkai Hot-Shot so I have to make do with the plastic flames instead, I mean in the long run it's probably safer but it dosent exactly scream realism.
