A reason why the two BT/Alt figures I hung onto are the Hasbro versions. This is one of Takara's more annoying weaknesses, going right back to G1 - they just can't colour match. I used to think it was just a vagary of using two different materials - i.e. that if something mixed the two, the colours were always going to look quite different. It's really not, though - if the likes of Mark and Tonka can/could manage it...

Well, it's not like Hasbro doesn't occasionally have problems with making molded, unpainted plastic colors and painted plastic parts match...

Anyway. Japanese EZ (Legends) Constructicons in packaging, due out this week.
http://www.the-arker.com/news_show.asp?Info_id=3285

I'm hearing reports that these are ALREADY SOLD OUT. Wow. So if you want them and didn't order them yet, either wait for Takara to do a second production run, or wait for the upcoming store exclusive Hasbro versions that were promised at BotCon.

Meanwhile, upcoming Target exclusive "burning" redeco of The Fallen:

I, er, I don't recall saying they did. However, by keeping painted diecast out of the mix they're 25% less incompetent. What it is, right, is there are/were other toy companies who, whisper it, make action figures that aren't Transformers even if they do the same basic thing. Not everything is Hasbro or Takara. Not unless you're loyal to the brand instead of the quality of the product, of course.

Damnit, I was just there Saturday and neither this nor Superion. Bruticus Maximus is not up on their online site yet either so I won't hit that 10% of $50 they are having on toys right now.

I'm torn. Honestly torn. I like Thrust figures, but the Breakaway figure is one I've been avoiding as the robot mode kinda looks like they left it half-way transformed and all cluttered. Anyone with the Breakaway figure, does the mold look this cluttered in person or is there an alternate transformation so that his head actually pops out instead of peeking out through a windshield?

I had the same problem you are having. The Superions sold out extremely quick at Target in Fort Smith. One moment they were there, the next they were clean gone. It appears that collectors, or kids, or both, are buying these combiners up at a fast rate. I wish you luck though in finding these though.

I was really on the fence with this figure because at first, it looked like someone folded a plane in half and called it an autobot. I picked up the figure on impulse later and I've been in love with it ever since. It's a great buy: Fun transformation, great looking alt., unique robot form. The head not coming out is kinda iffy but there's kitbashes available here and there to remedy that.
All in all, buy it. Buy 12. Breakaway rules.

I'm still peeved that Mixmaster can't combine, but he does look surprisingly awesome in G1 colors.
