20th Anniversary Optimus Prime, How do you seperate his legs?

I can transform it back and forth, but the legs seem to be shut together. There are no instructions on how to pull them apart either. So do you just pull really hard? For clarification, I don't mean pushing his legs up with the silver cans on the side. Thanks.

Pull his legs apart at the ankles. That should do it.

That did, it was actually what I was doing before but I guess I was afraid that I might break something. It's a really tight fit, I'll see how it holds up. What an awesome toy, got it for 73 shipped(Takara Version).
