I ran into a guy in the parking lot who bought
17 of them. Luckily, there were two left in the action figure aisle on the top shelf that they must've missed when they first moved them to clearance.
I got the last two in two trips. That other guy was from Owensburough, so if you see a lot of them on Ebay from there... I had a brief conversation with that guy

jesus.... that's like $au35 or so..... bugger me that's cheap... the best we got him for was $au112 I think, but the only places who have stock left these days are the toyworlds & they don't budge from $au140 :/

It just depends on the store and the manager, I think.
I picked one at retail back in March when they first showed up, and then two at $30, and then two at $20. That's five. The other fellow had 17 of them, so that's 22.
Assuming they come in crates of 25 (or at least divisible by five), that means they sold 4 between March and September. So, yeah. It just depends on the store and the manager.
On another note, I also talked to one of the sales people when I put the energon deluxes on layaway, and she said the inventory is all tied in to the sales computer. So... if you want shockblasts and mirages in stock, buy all the ironhides
