What do you do when you can't find the toys in the store?

Hey people,

I checked back in and saw news items Hound repaints, reissues of Predaking and Piranacon, and new combiners for either Energon or Cybertron.

However, I've checked around at four local wal-marts, a toys-r-us, and a Kmart, and they're all still on the second wave of energon, and only smokescreen and sideswipe for alternators.

And lots of them. The G1 reissues at toy-r-us are overflowing the shelves.

I keep noticing people mentioning distribution problems with hasbro, so I take it I'm not the only one. So what do the rest of you do?

I know there's ebay, but the prices there tend to get inflated to the point of having to make decisions among which to buy and which not. If they would just show up in the stores, I could afford most of the ones I want.

So what do you all do?

There's very few I want, making eBay an option.

Bear in mind that most of what you read as far as News goes pertains to stuff which won't see release for months, in some cases into next year. It's a combination of Hasbro previews, pre-orders, prototypes and advanced sales preview items.

Energon isn't even in full swing, let alone the series which will come after.

Order online. I've used both http://www.hlj.com and http://www.bigbadtoystore.com on more than one ocassion.

Other than that, wait and be patient.

All the toys you mentionned are not released yet, maybe that's why.

I live in a country where toystores like toys r-us etc do not exist, so I van understand how you feel.

We don't even have any re-issues, no alternators besides smokescreen...I could go on forever...

E-bay is not that bad. I've spotted Alternators Sideswipe for 9 british pounds, but refrained from buying him because the shipping cost was much higher. There is a majority of auctions that have a buy now option for a decent amount of money, the only problem is the shipping and handling cost.

Well, I know the gestalts aren't out yet. I guess what I had in mind when I wrote that was more along the lines of Arcee, Shockblast, Sharkticon, and the like. Alternator Hound, especially.

My bad :\

Yeah, myself and others have had problems finding the latest wave that supposedly came out in March. I usually just bitch about it on here and continue waiting for the figures. I'm really starting to wonder about the stores in my area though since I haven't seen a single new figure since Wave 2 came out in Feb.

I either wait, wait a bit more, and by about 3 months after the first Australian sightings, it gets in stock in Wagga.

If it's clear that said item is not coming to Wagga (ie. it's a Target exclusive, or TRU reissue), then I either phone order from Target, or go online, and see where my search takes me. Aaah, Aussie/Singaporean online dealers.

Hound repaint (if you're talking about the oldschool hound) and Predaking are Japanese reissues. You have to order those online.

Yeah, hasblow's been suckin' it up lately when it comes to distributing stuff.

If a store doesn't have what I'm looking for, I take a page from BW Inferno's playbook.

might be that the toystores are still overstocked with last waves. They're always pretty full with energon toys.
