As some of you may know on the Generation 1 Optimus Prime toy, his wheels had branding that said, "Desert Dog," on them. Has this company ever made any appearances in fiction and do we know who runs it etc?

If it hasn't achieved a wiki article, there's probably nothing really out there in terms of info -- does get namechecked here;

It's the sort of thing to try to bring up with Hasbro staffers who might know original Hasbro/Takara staffers.

They're just a brand of tyres used on jeeps and whatnot. The branding carried over to the TF toys from the Diaclone era in the days where licensing wasn't so rigorously enforced. See also: Jazz's Martini livery, the Citanes/Gitanes branding on Mirage and well, pretty much all the G1 alt-modes from '84 - '85, all of which stole from real world car manufacturers.
