Re: unicron Armada, reflector and catalog brochures, promo posters
I'm pretty sure the 2010 one was only Amazon-exclusive in the States, though. I bought mine off the shelf at a Toys'R'Us and unless my memory fails me it was stocked for nearly as long as the Armada or Energon ones were, and eventually ended up on clearance. I'd imagine a lot wound up with kids up ...

Re: Anyone come across any customs or media of the Prime/Convoy prototypes?
Best I can do is some scans from a generations book I bumped into a while back: https://imgur.com/a/SY9lORa There's two versions of the convoy prototype there. If you're thinking more in terms of fan art, I'm drawing a blank. Maybe try a lateral approach and look for art of the Diaclone reboot stuff...

Re: unicron Armada, reflector and catalog brochures, promo posters
maybe it's a self-limiting survey being on social media with other crotchety old folk, but there doesn't seem to be as much interest online for Armada/Energon/Cybertron. Possibly because the TV shows weren't particularly memorable, more competition with other shows, etc. Maybe more fans will come o...

Re: unicron Armada, reflector and catalog brochures, promo posters
There's also the hair to split about the Armada version being a general retail item aimed at kids at the time, and the 2010 version being an online exclusive aimed more towards adult collectors. Difference being that the people that would largely prefer the G1-ified version probably already have it ...

Re: unicron Armada, reflector and catalog brochures, promo posters
I had to look it up, but the anniversary version came out around 2010/2011. It's more orange and has a different head sculpt. As for whether it's more sought after, I wouldn't necessarily assume that. Given that it's boxed, it's likely to be more appealing to a younger collector that was a kid when ...

Re: unicron Armada, reflector and catalog brochures, promo posters
For common and current stuff, ebay will actually list what the item is trending at, which is helpful. For older and less common stuff, one of the best tools we have to figure out what a figure trades for is the "sold listings" option on ebay searches. After you've entered your search query...

Yeah, it's unfortunately not something that's really extant these days. Here's hoping.

Re: Remembering that our old toys actually exist!
Beast Wars II Cyberbeasts! https://imgur.com/a/Tr1LjVR Took me the longest time to get these together. Not quite as mental as the Transmetal 2 Beast Wars figures, but I like the mish-mash of cybernetic parts with beasty-flesh. Really nice paint apps on all four of them too. I do find Max-B and Thru...

Re: OFFICIAL TRANSFORMERS TOYS NEWS
Based on previous Titans, it's likely to be deluxe-ish in size, though that's not a given by any means.
But yeah, I want me some Ark too. And I think the time for giant, gloriously intricate, third party masterpiece Rock Lords has come. I mean, the Ark needs a volcano to lodge into, yeah?

Re: OFFICIAL TRANSFORMERS TOYS NEWS
Also they've showed off stock pics for the titan Ark and the new Beast Wars Scorponok. I've already seen people wanting the Ark retooled into Omega Supreme like in Animated, but I don't see how that works. The ship is flipped 180* from one robot to the other, so the retooling would mean chucking the...

Re: Remembering that our old toys actually exist!
And then Beast Machines happened, and that was even weirder and I guess a step too far for most fans' tastes. What kills me, absolutely kills me, is that the Transtech designs were even weirder , but because those were never made, some people are quite vocal about wanting them. If you ask them if t...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!
Got a big package (well, actually two packages) yesterday. Some more Kingdom wave one guys, Siege Omega Supreme, and the boxed set of Studio Series Constructicons. Kingdom's great, people. It's the 2009/2010 line of the next ten years, although there're fewer molds. Optimus Primal and Rattrap showed...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!
Went on a late night trip to the store for bagels came out with $120 or so of robots :o Kingdom Beast Wars Megatron (purple trex): First impression is that he's amazing and I can recommend him 100%. Get him now or wait for the inevitable non-Barney repaints. He's literally just a refinement of the 1...

Here's another example, in addition to SCSW's examination of Mirage's fake decals, of what I have in mind when I say I want to merge reviews (toys, comics, whatever) with an arguable point for discussion. Will add the pictures I took in a bit to show prospective formatting (or at least what I can ac...

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC
I never gave an update on my doctor appointment! Because I'm still waiting! Should like to say that I got my covid antibody test results back last week, and they were... negative! So either I just randomly lost my sense of taste for five weeks in the middle of a pandemic where the the effects of th...

Re: Remembering that our old toys actually exist!
Well, errrr, Magnaboss has a neat sword...??? A sword that is fashioned from a cat's butt...?? My brother nabbed a Magnaboss a while back, and I somehow managed to break two Silverbolts. Gold plastic syndrome is definitely a thing, folks, to all you disbelievers out there. The bits just snapped and...

So, some gubbins turned up this week which took the edge of my dad suddenly passing away on Tuesday :( Thank God for hobbies and silly distractions. I'll miss the big lug and hope he's resting well :) :( Sorry about you're dad. Mine just turned 80 a week ago, so mortality is something in the back o...

Re: Remembering that our old toys actually exist!
Tripredacus Tripredacus gets my vote for one of the most coherent combiners ever. The individual bugs all look like... well, they look like the bugs that they're supposed to look like. The individual robots are all great too. All that sort of ball-jointed, weird looking Beast Wars-sy goodness, and ...
