Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Kingdom Pipes A favourite from childhood, I was very excited to see Pipes get a new figure. It's really good too - at least in robot mode. The blue is nice and vibrant, in a strange dark blue kind of way and the crisp white next to it looks very nice. Paint apps are limited, but there's dashes of s...

Re: Remembering that our old toys actually exist!

I've probably found it easier to get sucked in by the Kingdom BW figures because I'd sold nearly all mine! Don't regret it, and its been nice to get new versions of the characters again, and I especially appreciate having slicker versions of Megatron, Blackarachnia and Cheetor (even though he's the ...

Re: Remembering that our old toys actually exist!

As is the wont of collecting Generations figures these days, you find yourself with duplicates of figures and I've been clearing out all the vehicular ones with ease, but these guys, I might have to keep having fiddled about with them again. Its the Thrilling 30 Beast Wars figures! https://i.imgur.c...

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC

Discussion I had with a colleague at work: "I know you think the jabs are full of microchips and poison, but just out of interest, have you had your MMR, Tetanus and Polio shots?" "Well, yes." "So what's the difference with the CV-19 jabs...?" *walks off in a huff* I go...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Agree Hasbro is slowly killing interest in much of their stuff. Having pretty much got a monopoly on the toy market (everything from action figures to Playdoh) I guess they can do whatever. I get they have costs to cover and dipping into crowd funding to produce super-niche or eyewateringly expensiv...

Re: Your Latest Non-TF Toy Acquisitions

^Nice to see some love for Origins :) I had a few MOTU figures back when I was young, He-Man, Man-At-Arms, Mek-A-Neck, Kobra Khan, Beast Man, Man-E-Faces, plus Wind Raider and a second hand Castle Greyskull (the proper spelling :P ) that had none of the accessories. I loved them all and played with ...

^Me too. We're back to masks in the office at work now Omicron (Wasn't that the name of the colony where Depth Charge's friends got murdered by Protoform X?) is getting the government a bit more interested in public health. Shame 'please wear a mask' and it being mandatory in shops/ public transport...

Re: Your Latest Non-TF Toy Acquisitions

Masters Of The Universe Origins Jamboree I'd been trying really hard to resist these as I really don't need to be cluttering up what little space I have with more guff, but a saw a bunch on sale and couldn't resist. These are smartly marketed as 'Retro Play' with modern articulation and they are re...

Re: Hey, what does everyone do for work now, anyway?

^Agreed. We're definitely looking at WFH as long term thing, with hybrid working and that - like many businesses, we've quickly cottoned onto the potential savings if you don't have buildings you don't need anymore (our head office building is pretty much empty these days). I've not minded WFH when ...

Generations Selects Sandstorm Nice redeco of the Ramjet mould in an unreleased G2 colourscheme. I like the pattern on the jet and the shark face, but boy does this look like a whole load of beige in robot mode. It reminds me of the sort of carpet encouraged by Estate Agents, along with Magnolia wal...

Re: re-issued Beast Wars

Although they've kind of come out with little fanfare, I think Hasbro's reissued them in celebration of Beast Wars 25th Anniversary.

Scorponok's due for a reissue (in what seem to be show accurate colours); not sure about the Transmetals, but I think they are rumoured.

Re: General LEGO discussion (inc. collectible minifigs)

Neat stuff, although I've never seriously considered Legoland Windsor because big builds where it's essentially just basic bricks but stacked to produce curves and textures tend to be a bit... boring, after the first few in a row? It's sort of the LEGO equivalent of pixel art or MS Paint drawing. A...

Kingdom Road Rage I was all set to pass this up, as the internet has said the Tracks mold is awful. I've ended up enjoying it, but I can completely understand why it's no-ones favourite. The design choices are questionable. I don't mind the clear plastic carapace that makes up most of the alt-mode ...

Re: Cyberverse/Bumblebee Dinobots

I suspect that like all the Cyberverse figures I've picked up, the designs and packaging will be nicer than the actual figures. Bit of a shame that Cyberverse seems to have a budget of nothing, so the toys are hollow and basic, but they somehow cost as much, if not more, than the Generations stuff a...

Re: Hey, what does everyone do for work now, anyway?

I'm still doing the same; handling complaints for water and sewerage company I work for. It's been an unbearable year and a bit, from that point of view. At one point, we were the only team still doing our full hours, as everything else got massively scaled back. Levels of contact from our customers...

Re: Hey, who wants to buy a lake house and turn it into a commune?

The sort of pickle only a pandemic, a huge shift in consumer behaviour, furloughing staff, Brexit (to an extent) and a skills shortage can cause. I don't know what it's like elsewhere in the world, but we find ourselves grappling with an acute shortage of lorry drivers to get stuff from a to b. A bi...

I has got some things in the post! Hasbro 35th Anniversary Reissue Astrotrain Not really on my priorities list, but it's in the original western toy colours and it was cheap, so yaaay. Studio Series 86 Gnaw Decent, but not perhaps as good as the Prime Wars version. The robot mode is excellent, with ...

Re: Hey, who wants to buy a lake house and turn it into a commune?

I can also cook and do gardening - I'm not super green fingered, but like having a go (helps to start with stuff that'll pretty much grow no matter what like potatoes). Quite willing to have a go at fixing/ building things (I love flatpacks, so chopping/ sawing wood and building stuff would be cool).
