I don't think that's at all unreasonable for the non-Bumblebee ones, given their size, the added cost of licensing and a higher part count than your average Voyager. I made a ROTF Devestator out of some kreon combiner torsos, legs, and combiner limbs. The color scheme looks like an homage to G1 Barrage, who had grey stipes in beetle mode and yellow robot limbs. They also used this color scheme on Energon Insecticon. I can't explain the other problems.
