It's telling to note that DOTM Shockwave was clearly the character without even having an alt-mode. Though there was a lot of confusion as to whether the big robo-squid was part of him or a vehicle or his pet. No kidding. All it would have taken was a quick addition to Prime's dialog to say it was ...

@ Denyer : more cartoony is what I'm looking for.

The likelihood of SW getting a western release is pretty high, I think.

@Numbat - the new MP prime is considerably shorter. He's mostly plastic and has a vastly superior truck mode.

That all said, the original MP Prime looks more impressive as a one off shelf piece.

Heh heh, Uranus

@ Cliffy : have you seen the Hercules figs? They're no more generic than these and feature a 2005 level of sophistication. They're not horrible but TFC has established itself as a great Q.C. Engineer but a middling toy engineer.

So - Masterpiece the end of an era?

I'm a transformers collector. I'm a transformers fan. I like G1, I like neo-G1. Classics etc. I also like new takes on transformers, animated, movie, prime etc. Yet the toy collector in me has been waiting a lifetime for the masterpiece line as it exists now, and I couldn't be more satisfied. I have...

Numbat; I have the Rid Cliffy and he's a great transformer but an inaccurate represntation of Prime Cliffy in robot mode. He suffers from stoop shoulders. It's the revealer gimmicks gears that screw the shoulders up. Combine that with the freakishly long forearms and he becomes more ape like than an...

Not coming out in the US/UK AFAIK, but considering the premium Skywarp started attracting after the two-pack came and went there'll probably be a lot of people splitting the Asia one. Actually, pretty much **** all comes out in the UK... it's like they've stopped trying. Even in the US new moulds g...

I don't own any Kiss-play toys but I do have many Alternators, They were excellent in their time but mostly haven't aged well. Likewise, Kiss-Play Convoy being a subtle redeco of Alternators Optimus likely leads to driving his price down. I think Alternators were the Masterpiece toys of their time, ...

I'm not really into this re-imagination of a line that has been already treated badly by retailers. I also don't care for the look of the retooled toys.

The preview for the show looks good, though. Guess I won't be canceling the Hub after all.

I think it's Buster Optimus Prime.

Just the sheer notion of pulling that design off so well in both modes makes it #1 to me.

Truth be told Michael Bay is the only one who knows anything and likely is telling us nothing. Quite possibly Bay has very little planned at this stage and can't tell us anything because there is nothing to tell. Hell, he prepared RotF without most of a script and doesn't need much to make these mov...

ROTF Leader Optimus Prime. Developed in 2008.

Still an amazing figure that manages the complex movie design almost to perfection.
