Don't knock "cheap" gifts. Some of the best things I've ever gotten (and some of the best-received gifts I've ever given) were things that cost under $20. Well I got the Zaku Sniper shipped to him directly from a Canadian seller so I only paid $20 for it. It's when you have pay for a lot ...

Black Sabbath! And I got the deluxe expanded editions of them all which throw in an additional CD with live tracks, studio outtakes w/ alternate lyrics or no lyrics at all, etc. Paranoid - actually has three discs, disc 2 is a DVD with the quadrophonic mix - unfortunately I don't have the equipment...

I don't really get to buy a lot of presents with my meager budget so rather than buying everyone something cheap and useless, I tend to just buy a different person something each year, and this time I bought a friend of mine in Canada a model kit of the Zaku Sniper since it's his favourite MS.

Men in Black: The Series - much like the other animated shows from Sony's TV animation division like Extreme Ghostbusters, the Godzilla series and Big Guy & Rusty, this one's a pretty solid show with a good deal of episodes that are at least entertaining. Also it has David Warner voicing Alpha w...

I've never gotten the nostalgia that some folks have for die-cast, but rubber tires really do add a lot to a figure. It's a shame that even Masterpiece figures have given up on them. It also helps that you can take measure to prevent rubber from the usual age-related problems of drying and cracking...

Fiendish of you to make one of the questions about the most forgettable story in the comic that nobody wants to re-read to find the answer for.

Cars 3 Jackson Storm - the standard 1:53 die cast one.

After giving up hope of finding this guy in retail, he turns up in my own freakin' grocery store. The size of a grocery store that doesn't exactly brandish an excellent toy aisle.

I always felt how Michael changes and is drawn in and corrupted by his position in the family was one of the greatest strengths of the first 2 Godfather films (less said about the 3rd the better). Prior to the assassination of Sollozzo and Capt. McCluskey, Sonny questions Michael's motives, is he d...

Watched The Godfather - over two nights, because I should've known better than to start a freakin' 3+ hour movie at 10 PM. I've seen the film quite a few times now, but only now I noticed that Michael's character change from a guy who doesn't really want to get involved in the family business, only ...

It's kind of a dick move; by raising the prices you're left with the choice of either voting with your wallet and risking them just not making anything instead of selling their shit at a more acceptable price point, or just buying it anyway and essentially letting them get away with it.

Soul of Chogokin GX-13R Dancouga.

It's kind of awkward that they've used the same designation as they used for the "real type" variant of the original release way back.

No matter how many times I watch it, the moment in Masterforce where the Decepticon Headmaster juniors and Clouder are suddenly robbed of their bracelets and their transtectors become sentient and turn evil again?

I always think "man, that's such a load of bullshit".

Arrow blu of John Carpenter's The Thing. I actually ordered both the regular Limited Edition and the steelbook, and I pained over the decision which to actually open to watch, but it seemed like a no-brainer; the LE has lots of paperwork I'll want to check out. So of course the steelbook is the firs...

I'd almost completely forgotten about my birthday if my mom hadn't sent me a text message and then I found myself wondering, how should I treat myself? Wasn't the previous DVD release the one bundled with the documentary? That one seemed more like a special interest release to me, in the same vein as Lost in Time in that only hardcore Whovians would be interested in that sort of thing. And the Lost in Time box set itself somehow seems a bit quaint ...
