Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Beast Wars Reissue Rattrap Down to £6.50 in The Entertainer in the run up to Christmas and picked up just to complete the line up of reissues I've acquired! Rattrap's alright, nice simple flip-changer (why are all these packaged so badly that it's put a strain on the flip-change mechanism?) with ne...

Re: Still only one Unicron question?

I guess like all these things, the fiction will be whatever Hasbro decides it is. In this era of endless reboots and refreshes, pick whatever works for you. Personally, I don't give much of a toot for continuity, especially where Transformers is concerned. It's had so many different takes that it's ...

Top 10 Transformers of 2022!

Seeing as everywhere else will have one of these going on, I thought I'd do one too :swirly: Picking my favourite Transformers this year has been surprisingly easy. These won't be the coolest or the most amazing, but they're the ones I've spent the most time playing with and have enjoyed the most! S...

Re: Grumpy old men: armchair brand management

Crowd funds by big companies do tank when they're phoned in, so they're only suitable for "wow" products -- the Haslab Rancor failure has probably taught them that. ...and the Engines of Vengeance one. Shame really, as I like Ghost Rider... but not for $350. That was a misfire. Mind you, ...

Re: Grumpy old men: armchair brand management

Yeah, I ended up picking up Motormaster as the mark down was hefty chunk of change against the RRP, having been impressed with Wildrider and Dragstrip. There's been a lot of stuff showing up with price cuts lately. Odds and sods admittedly - it's not like the whole line's tanking, or it's the early ...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

I didn't think I'd have much to report this month, but I'd forgotten about some pre-orders and then found lots of exciting stuff on clearance in TKMaxx and GAME, as well as something I got off eBay... so I've ended up with a fair bit :O From off of the folks at IDToys: Shattered Glass Wheeljack and ...

Re: Your Latest Non-TF Toy Acquisitions

I really, really would like the Castle set Lego put out this year. But I don't have £350 to spend on a Lego set and it's annoying that Lego seem to equate Adult Fan Of Lego = has hundreds (or thousands, given some of the eye-watering sums recent 'adult collectables' from Lego have been) to spend on...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Studio Series Bumblebee Movie some numbers Wheeljack £11! Can't remember the last time I paid that for a brand new retail release Deluxe. 2009, probably. I remember the Prime Deluxe toys being £12.99 which seemed a big hike back then. Anyway, this wee chap is reduced ...everywhere. He's actually qu...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Studio Series Arcee I flat out loved the look of this thing the first time I saw it. Best mainline Arcee toy by a country mile for me. She's all round, ovally shapes and horrible looking robot bits and looks great. Bike mode is excellent too! Thinking about it, I've actually liked all the Bumblebee...

Re: Grumpy old men: armchair brand management

I've been more interested in the G2 Dragstrip repaint that popped up on pre-orders with little fanfare (£35 though, so er... probably not) out more than anything else..! The reveals were nice and I liked the mix of things, but I'm just not feeling it. Glad it's out there and Legacy has built on the ...

The water industry was privatised... end of the 80s? So there might have been some understanding that alleged scope for improvement from that wouldn't come to fruition in five years or so. It's been another quarter century, firms have paid massive amounts to investors and a lot of that money's gone...

Legacy Velocitron Speedia 500 Collection Diaclone Universe Burn Out This is a fun boxy robot/car. The robot mode proportions are a bit off - huge dumpy legs, massive car chest and chunky, but small arms - but the figure carries it off well. Definitely one of those that's better in hand than in pict...

Re: Living in interesting times

It's a depressing time to be alive. Over here, we've a leadership contest to decide our next Prime Minister, which is down to two and decided by Conservative party members, who are hardly the most progressive thinkers. It's quickly turned into a race to the bottom to try and convince a bunch of agei...

Re: Grumpy old men: armchair brand management

Cosmos being packed one to a case makes sense to me. He hardly set my pulse racing back in the 1980s and the same is true now. Us fanboys aside, are kids going to connect with a character who looks like he turns into a hotel reception bell? Or will they - as I suspect - be more interested in charact...

Robots! Picked up a few bits this month which I have been enjoying. Weirdwolf w/ Monzo (Chinese KO) One of the many, many bootlegs of G1 toys available on the aftermarket. Quality is surprisingly good and it's nice to own this again. I did have an original one some years ago, but it was in a bit of ...

Re: Latest Music Purchases.

MWWB - 'The Harvest' (2022) Sludgey-drone metal from Wales. It's the perpetual sound of Welsh moaning and kind of blurs into one long note. I think it's good. Pale Waves - 'Who Am I?' (2021) Passable indie-goth. Sounds pretty good, but isn't particularly memorable. Lady Gaga - 'Heart Of Chromatica'...
