Re: Official Transformers new/upcoming releases! Hasbro, TakaraTomy and more

I didn't buy the tetra jet once. Is it bad? From looking at pictures, I can't tell if F15 retool is feasible, but they're good at pre-planning that kind of the thing now.

More generally, have any product listing leaks in the past few years been wrong?

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

I'm not disputing that, but I wasn't super keen on paying import prices for TR figures either (even though I did few times). And Titans Return figures were a whole lot more interesting to me than a set of combiner limb repaints! A figure needs to be pretty special to get me to pay that much more th...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

I love the look of the Seacons too, but there's no way I can talk myself into paying full Takara price for them. They're neat retools but the figures they're based on retailed for less than half of what these guys are going for and they were barely worth that. I don't think it's that bad. They're o...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Speaking of pre-orders it's going to be ****ing hard to justify Seacons at the suggested TT mall prices -- getting to 3P combiner heights. Are they really, though? Generic deluxe figure for Titans Return was ~$17 to $20, and it's Takara counterpart was typically $40 by the time it got to this conti...

Re: Toy mould cost and wear, etc

I've always found the excuse of "steel molds are irreplaceable/cannot be recast" to be highly suspect. I mean, they make fifty or something new transformer molds a year, so it can't be that much of a hassle. For the stuff that's lost or misplaced, they can always scan each part from existing product...

Re: Official Transformers new/upcoming releases! Hasbro, TakaraTomy and more

Anyone else surprised by how tepid the support has been for this? Not after the knee-jerk excitement died down after a few days, no. A case of right idea, wrong size and time? Right idea, wrong a lot of things, I think. We know from the third party market that giant, $500 figures are feasible (if u...

Re: Official Transformers new/upcoming releases! Hasbro, TakaraTomy and more

According to the official transformers facebook page (as of ~15 minutes ago), Unicron's kickstarter deadline has been pushed back to October 6th. Also, prices are going to go up because of tariffs. That thread itself is pretty funny because TFW doesn't allow political discussion which, given how ill...

At least the pretenders had shells to hide that kind of thing.

Re: Official Transformers new/upcoming releases! Hasbro, TakaraTomy and more

Here's Studio Series deluxe 2020 wave 1

Same stuff as was rumored a few weeks ago: ROTF Bee (which seems to be a remold/reshell of the `76 Bee, which is itself a reworking of the 2017 Bee, golly), WWII Hotrod (Bee remold), Arcee three pack, and DOTM Soundwave with Laserbeak.

Neat.

Thank you. That's more or less what I thought. I'll look into getting one to go with Omega. :)

And here's Generations Piranacon in gray prototype.

Looks like all six Seacons are present and the weapon mode for the combiner is retained.

<sigh>

How much?

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

I've gotten quite a few new things in the past couple of weeks. After getting Brunt, I went back and found Siege Red Alert. I like that his colors complement Sixgun's, who is now Red Alert's (almost coherent) jet pack. Still pondering who to get for Cog... maybe Crosshairs? I also got several Studio...

Re: Advice sought (general thread)

So, does anyone have something nice to say about Combiner Wars/Unite Warriors Devastator? I've passed on it until now, but the Takara version that has elbows and whatnot has been reissued, and it does look okay-ish next to the new Omega Supreme... I'm tempted. I know it's not great , but does anyone...

Re: Official Transformers new/upcoming releases! Hasbro, TakaraTomy and more

I was just going to post that.

I mean, I'm more surprised by these than the giant Unicron.

What's with the names? Aragon, Cromar, and Zetar? Surely they're a reference to something.

Re: Official Transformers new/upcoming releases! Hasbro, TakaraTomy and more

It's still early on the west coast (~7:30am), so they might still have a product display case update for today, but it seems that we didn't get to see much in the way of new stuff that wasn't revealed in the past two weeks. No signs of the next Titan or Commander class this time. :| I should like to...

Re: Official Transformers new/upcoming releases! Hasbro, TakaraTomy and more

Also, the other two dino cassettes are getting reissued. Together with those two different Bumblebee garage sets from last year, we've actually got some of the rarest and most expensive G1 toys on the secondary market made available again, and reasonably cheaply. I wonder if Takara will dust off Enc...

Re: Official Transformers new/upcoming releases! Hasbro, TakaraTomy and more

Found the scales! Titan Metroplex, at 22" tall, only weighs a whopping 5 and 3/4's pounds, meaning Unicron easily weighs over three times as much.
