Re: Remembering that our old toys actually exist!

(re: Warcry's pic) I have all those! Tarantulas is actually my favorite of the bunch. Not just because he's totally metal, but also because at some point I realized that his relative transformation scheme is the same as Starscream's, and I like that quite irrationally. I too have Armada Preda...

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC

Clay, I didn't see anything in your link about the effigy being burned. Plus, it said the effigy was hung outside the Capitol after protesters walked there from the governor's mansion. So, it's not as bad as you thought. It's just really, really bad. Thank you, I needed that chuckle. As for you, ho...

Re: So I'm pretty much out of the fandom at this point

I know it seems silly, because it’s a message board for Hasbro’s ‘The Transformers’, but this website, and all of you on it, formed an important part of who I am, so thank you. I mean, two members from here got married and had a kid, so you're still on the low end of the "this forum changed my life...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

He mentioned flip-out wings, so I'm assuming car? It is the car version, yes. I've been after one for a while now, so I'm glad to have him again. It's quite hard picking up Unicron Trilogy stuff over here now. Even at TFNation, the bins dealers had were largely full of Movie-era stuff and not much ...

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC

Meanwhile, in Kentucky, a gun-toting, right wing mob protested stay-at-home orders issued by the governor by burning him in effigy, right outside his house, because you can do that kind of thing without any consequences if you're white.

Re: Remembering that our old toys actually exist!

Also, how's imagur as a file host? I think my photobucket account is still active, but the website is slow to the point of being unusable. It depends on the device you're uploading from, I think. I find imgur pretty good on a computer, but it's annoying to use on a tablet or phone. Also, you need t...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Cybertron Hot Shot Hooray! Finally managed to pick up a replacement for the one I sold off. WHat a cracking toy this is. It's massive for a Deluxe, the plastics are nice and weighty. He has a silly gimmick (flip out wings! big whoop) and lovely colours. One of the finest Deluxe Transformers ever ev...

Re: Remembering that our old toys actually exist!

Oh heck! Like you, I've always expected to lose Mindwipe due to the soft rubber going. I wonder if there's a lot of stress on the joint because of the mismatched plastics? It seemed to be the rubber part gripping the pin too tightly and putting the hard plastic part in torsion that it couldn't take...

Re: Remembering that our old toys actually exist!

And this is someone that Clay (I think that's who I got it from?) should remember! Yep, I remember him! He sat in a tub in the closet for about a decade because I didn't think anyone wanted it since it wasn't the show-colors. Then you mentioned that you did, and traded the power core dinobots to me...

Re: Remembering that our old toys actually exist!

All of them. All the old toys. Being cooped up in the house, I've adopted a strategy of remembering that I have X, then wait a day or two before digging it out to build up anticipation. And it works. They're all lovely. Recent tinkerings include Mania King (a third party Galvatron), fansprojects Hea...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

I've never actually seen a Longrack in person. He's pretty goofy-looking in pictures, but a lot more charmingly so than, say, Guiledart. I suspect I'd probably like him. Mach Kick looks like he's got the same sort of engineering as Guiledart, but is less of a mess because horse parts aren't as chun...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

The Neo stuff is definitely an acquired taste. One that I, for the most part, don't seem to have acquired. Airraptor is the first one that I can actually bring myself to call good. I like Stampy and Universe Nemesis Prime well enough but they're definitely pretty flawed. The Neos are hit and miss, ...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Studio Series Scavenger Cor, he's massive! A great big ugly sprawling monstrosity that turns into a nice looking digger thing of enormous size. He's brilliant! Absolutely love the weird and strange design and the colourful alt mode. Great fun. Yeah, Demolishor/Scavenger is my favorite of the rotf c...

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC

 I'm now literally having to explain to someone on facebook that news agencies use b roll / stock footage and photography to give you something to look it, and that it's not a grand conspiracy by the international communist cabal to take away your freedoms when they use the same footage for di...

Re: OFFICIAL TRANSFORMERS TOYS NEWS

Next movie masterpiece is Starscream, as rumored. He looks nice. The difficulty is that the studio version(s) is also nice, as is the leader class / mpm01 figure from 2010. Also, I think the latter had a better jet mode with less junk in the undercarriage, but this one has more articulation apparen...

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC

I know my mask protects other people more than me. But, I can't expect other people to wear masks to protect me if I'm not willing to do the same for them. I forget the name for this principle, but it's one of two things I remember from half a dozen philosophy courses in college. That's the golden ...

Re: So I'm pretty much out of the fandom at this point

I'm just as keen on figures these days than I was awhile ago, but I do find myself going back to the 2005-2010 era lately and re-living my "youth", so to speak. Not to say I don't get any modern figures [they are drop dead gorgeous] but that particular era captures sentiments, feelings, thoughts......

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Edit: The pin in Nightbird's elbow was bent. I got it out, and now it works OK, it's just a bit weaker than the other arm. So, I'm all set with that one, too. Good to hear, especially since after looking at the POTP versions, they don't have the pins in their shoulders. Part of the retooling, I gue...
