Re: Anyone seen the Netflix show yet? (Minor spoilers)

I also felt a lot of character arcs and motivations were underdeveloped or just plain rushed (though, I suppose that could be chalked up to the first chapter being crammed into only 6 episodes). I'm of two minds on this. On the one hand, the show was definitely lacking in backstory and motivation. ...

Re: Your Latest Non-TF Toy Acquisitions

G. I. Joe Classified Snake-Eyes: Do you like G.I. Joe? Do you like Marvel Legends? Have you always wanted a series of G.I. Joe figures that look like they were kitbashed from Legends parts? Then this toy is for you! I kid, but only a little. The Classified series is something that seems both contro...

Anyone seen the Netflix show yet? (Minor spoilers)

It's...kinda terrible, isn't it? I was going to do up a proper review with all the things I liked and didn't, but at the end of the day the only positive I can think of is getting to see my boy Spinister in a TV show for the first time. He even survived until the end in spite of getting impaled half...

Re: OFFICIAL TRANSFORMERS TOYS NEWS

That makes a pretty big difference, even if I still don't think that Spinister's mold is the greatest choice for Rotorstorm. I'm honestly surprised that the figures weren't already produced and on the way to retailers when they showed off the prototype, though. Though I suppose this could have alway...

Re: Custom Siege Pinpointer (or: babby's first dye job) [and other random customs]

Comparing with stock photos, I'd say both of the changes you did make for small but noticeable improvements. Are the Headmaster arms the sides of her head in robot mode? I think a dash of paint there would make for another small but noticeable improvement. I'm actually pretty surprised the antennae ...

Re: Remembering that our old toys actually exist!

I find that I enjoy my figures more when I mix and match, for sure. Just because a character gets a new toy doesn't mean they get a BETTER one, after all. And the more different lines and styles you mix together, the less anything looks out of place. And also, honestly, the 80s line was a hodgepodge...

Re: Masterpiece MPM-7 Bumblebee

Have to say, for a Masterpiece figure, this doesn't feel terribly prestige – it's just the figure in a tray with a few accessories and some paper instructions. Doesn't really scream 'high end collectible' to me. Are all the Movie Masterpiece figures like this? I have to say, this is the impression ...

Re: [The video game thread]

So, I decided to try my new SNES controller. My SNES won't start. I tried different games, different controllers. Nothing. :( I feel your pain. My SNES stopped working a few years ago. It'll boot up, or at least it would the last time I tried it, but the controller ports are dead. Regardless of whi...

Re: Book Me, Dano.

Star Wars Shadows Of The Empire - A novelization of the video game. It's actually not, not really. The book and the game are parts of the same story, but they cover almost entirely different parts of that story. Probably less than a quarter of what's in the game is covered by the book and vice vers...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

I ran into the wave 2 Earthrise Battlemasters while grocery shopping. I never saw Rung when he was released in Siege, but he's pretty cool. He doesn't do anything that the other Siege guns didn't do, but the fact that he's actually got a unique design with a bit of personality makes him an infinitel...

Re: THIRD PARTY TOYS NEWS

From what I read, Wei Jiang also own a whole bunch of different sub-brands too. The only one that I'd heard of was KBB, it does sound like a whole corner of the third-party marketplace might dry up over this. Though really, the Chinese justice system is so capricious I can't guess whether they're go...

Re: TOY REVIEW CLAIMS THREAD

Third party reviews would be great! There's not a huge amount of 3P talk here but I think that's mostly because the sheer volume of it is a bit overwhelming for most of us fogeys. I know I'd like to see reviews just so I'd get a better idea of what's out there.

Re: Power Of The Primes Abominus

The handfootguns are definitely the most disappointing part of the CW-style combiners. But I actually thought that Abominus fared better than the CW teams, because the tiny feet that come with Hun-grrr can combine with a spare set of hands to form something that's...well, still not good per se, but ...

...ten years? Really? When I saw your name pop up on the main page I thought "it's been a while since I saw him around", but I would have guessed two or three at most. Regardless, it's good to see you!

I hope life is making more sense for you now than it did then. :)

Alright, I've reset the password and send it off in an email. Hopefully that works!

Tantrum, if you'd like I should also be able to swap the emails so that your active account has the one you use, and the Isaac Hill one has the one with a "2".

Re: If you're having problems logging in, post in here and we'll try to help you

That makes sense! The Isaac Hill account is a few years older than Tantrum. And since you use that name on other forums -- last month you showed off your TFW Lego customs thread under that name -- I don't think there's any doubt that it's you. Denyer, any objections to sending a new password to the ...

Does the email that actually works have a '2' right before the @? Looking at your two accounts, the emails on file are the same except for the 2.

Re: OFFICIAL TRANSFORMERS TOYS NEWS

I've enjoyed the handful of first wave Earthrise toys I've gotten a fair amount, but the more we see the less interested I am in the later waves. Between the increasingly predictable redos of characters who just got toys last year, the increasing focus on cartoon robot modes and transformations that...

Re: OFFICIAL TRANSFORMERS TOYS NEWS

Would be my guess too. Though with G1 apparently taking over a chunk of Studio Series next year (there have been a ton of 1986 movie characters popping up in SS retailer listings apparently) it might skew a tiny bit higher. My guess is that we'd mostly see quasi-show accurate takes on first season s...
