Re: OFFICIAL TRANSFORMERS TOYS NEWS
The skeleton-bots look like a fun addition to the ranks. Not quite what I was thinking of when I said that I hoped the line gave us new beast characters, but both of the ones revealed so far look neat. Blackarachnia, Cyclonus and Megatron also look pretty cool. The other Beast Wars guys are nice too...

Re: Your Latest Non-TF Toy Acquisitions
The stud shooters are my least favourite thing about modern Star Wars Lego. They're ugly, AND my son always gets really upset when he flings yet another bit off to disappear behind the couch. But the battle packs are good fun in spite of them, though I don't have this particular one. Marvel Legends ...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!
Earthrise Snapdragon Kind of night and day with his pal Apeface, who suffered from bad material and bad QC that weren't up to the task of making his ambitious engineering work in the real world. Snapdragon is a lot less ambitious, but he feels so much better in-hand. The engineering is fairly basic...

Re: OFFICIAL TRANSFORMERS TOYS NEWS
Also, It's neat that Hasbro is getting better at keeping some of these Selects a surprise until they're available to order. It's a nice change from knowing what's coming so far in advance that it feels old before you can even buy it. And speaking of news way too far in advance, Vietnamese factory t...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!
Generations Selects Hubcap: Even smaller than I expected from seeing Cliffjumper in package, somehow. But if you can put that aside, he's a neat little toy. I'm pretty sure I've never seem a toy this small with this much engineering from Hasbro before. The transformation is more different from the ...

https://news.tfw2005.com/2020/08/21/g2-megatron-and-sandstorm-transformers-generations-selects-revealed-pre-orders-live-417624 Preorders for G2 Megatron are live. And also for an unexpected G2 Sandstorm, which never actually made it past the prototype stage back in the 90s. That's a really cool deco...

Re: Remembering that our old toys actually exist!
That looks fantastic. The facemask improves that toy a ton in any colour. I'm not even sure where my cartoon faces went. I'm really surprised by how few repaints the good MP Bumblebee got. It's not particularly show-accurate or complex, but if you take it as the fancy Deluxe toy that it is, it's gre...

Re: Anyone seen the Netflix show yet? (Minor spoilers)
A couple weeks after the fact, and I'd probably have forgotten that I'd watched the show at all if I hadn't made this thread... It was the lips. Seriously. The lips. LIke Megatron was actually Overlord wearing the ol' bucket. I keep remembering the lips. It's terifying. Oh heck yeah, that was a bit ...

Re: Cyberverse Spark Armour Sky-Byte
I gave a good look to Cyberverse Hammerstrike the other day when I saw one in store, because I've heard good things and Denyer seems to like it quite a bit. But they wanted $22 for it! I couldn't convince myself it was even close to worth that. The design looks cool but as you say, the build quality...

Re: OFFICIAL TRANSFORMERS TOYS NEWS
That looks kind of awful, if I'm being honest. Not the colours, those are beautiful, but that Earthrise Megatron mold just doesn't look good no matter how they photograph it. I'd love to get a good modern G2 Megatron toy but this doesn't do anything for me.

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!
Super jealous of Netflix Mirage. That's one of the most eye-catching decos I've seen on a Transformer in the last few years. So naturally, I've had no luck at all finding one. I think it's partly also because later Autobots are blander than Decepticon equivalents, whereas originals came back in Eart...

It was never about the destination. It was about all the people Buzzsaw mercilessly killed along the way.

Re: Cyberverse Spark Armour Sky-Byte
I really wanted to buy this when it was at retail here, but as you say the price just makes no sense for what you're getting. This set is about the size of a Generations Legends figure plus a Battlemaster, and retails for exactly what that combo would have cost. But the engineering, articulation and...

Re: Anyone seen the Netflix show yet? (Minor spoilers)
I would say that (though my memory grows foggier by the day) Jetfire's turn was fairly well telegraphed. Though maybe that's just me mentally filling in the blanks because he's Jetfire , of course he's switching sides. But wasn't his first appearance literally hacking Starscream's arm off to stop hi...

Re: Thank you
Isn't that the entire history of Cybertron? Decepticons take it to the Autobots for however long and then the Autobots flourish and win in the end? It is! But I also totally understand how some people who grew up on the cartoon exclusively might prefer more of a low-stakes affair, with the Deceptic...

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC
So, after going two whole weeks without reporting any COVID cases, things have started to go to shit here. It's not bad yet, but case counts are starting to go up sharply and I can see it getting a lot worse because no one here takes it seriously. Most of the new cases are due to fresh COVID cases t...

Re: Your Latest Non-TF Toy Acquisitions
G.I. Joe Classified Destro Not as superlative as Snake-Eyes, but still a very good quality six-inch figure. Great sculpt, great articulation, good accessories...basically all the stuff I said about Snake-Eyes is true here. The difference is that one is a badass silent ninja and the other is a moral...

I don't think I ever interacted much with G91, but he was certainly a presence and I'm glad to hear he's still alive and kicking. Counterpoint. Legit ruined the RPG experience for me by not letting me do what I wanted. At the time, I always attributed it to the fact I still chatted with Redstreak af...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!
The Dreadwing duo are a nice pair of Decepticon Aerialbots, and they're some of my favourite CW-style limb bots (damning them with faint praise, admittedly), but as representations of the characters and their unique gimmick they leave something to be desired. We've done really well for later characte...
