Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Classics Ramjet is definitely my favourite figure using the Classics Seeker body, as well, and I agree that the wings being on the legs are what does it. But still, the body shows its age nowadays. It's pretty disappointing that 13 years on this is still the best representation that most of the Seek...

Re: Custom Paintjobs

Honestly, I'd be surprised if you'd find too many people willing to spend money on customized Beast Wars stuff. It's possible, but in general the customs that tend to sell in this fandom mostly seem to be G1 nostalgia pandering stuff. And honestly even that seems to have declined a fair bit, now tha...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

How's the head sculpt on Impactor in person? I've heard a lot of grousing. Also, I'd forgotten how good Ultra Dreadwing looks. Siege Brunt My local stores have gotten a ton of new Transformers stock in for the first time since the New Year! Still kinda spotty on what and where, but the wave three De...

Re: Official Transformers new/upcoming releases! Hasbro, TakaraTomy and more

I know it was inevitable, and I'd long since come to terms with it, but boo to Titan Scorponok all the same. It's just so ill-fitting when he's a regular-sized leader in every single one of his relevant appearances in Western media, and his original toy was half Fort Max's size. Yes it's a thing tha...

More pics. https://news.tfw2005.com/2019/10/03/new-york-comic-con-2019-coverage-hasbro-transformers-new-toys-display-siege-earthrise-cyberverse-397565 Hoist is nice. Shame about the black head. Cliffjumper is alright. The Military Patrol is Bombshock and Growl, I think? Wheeljack does nothing for me.

F-15 Starscream!

I quite like the looks of this one. Like a Classics Starscream that's maybe decently poseable.

Re: Official Transformers new/upcoming releases! Hasbro, TakaraTomy and more

Sweet. Oh, and Prime and Grapple, plus the Micros aren't finished even if nowhere seems to bloody stock them. On the other hand, the Micromasters are the only thing that seems to get regularly stocked around these parts. Hoping for some more good ones in the new line, though seeing Big Daddy and Tr...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

I'd really wanted Siege Sixgun , but because my local stores are just flat out not bothering to stock most Generations price points again, I figured I'd missed out on him. But I guess he's getting shipped again in wave four, because I found one (and no other Deluxes if memory serves) at a store wher...

I hope that answers your question.
I think it does, thanks! I'll see if I can track down a game from '16 or '17 for less than what the new one's going for before I put any cash down.

Re: Official Transformers new/upcoming releases! Hasbro, TakaraTomy and more

Product leaks have been pretty accurate lately, for sure. I haven't bought the tetrajet either, but I've heard mixed reviews at best. Apparently it's quite poseable, but it's a kibble-monster with lazy engineering. Even from the stock photos you can tell that the arms and legs just hang under the fu...

Re: Official Transformers new/upcoming releases! Hasbro, TakaraTomy and more

Here's some rumoured listings for what I'm guessing is the first wave of the next Generations line. https://news.tfw2005.com/2019/09/25/rumor-possible-transformers-generations-2020-listings-397073 I'll be expecting a ton of fandom outrage if a new F-15 seeker mold is actually geting made the year af...

Re: [The video game thread]

HeavyArms (or anyone else), do you have any of the modern WWE games? My wife says she wants one for the PS4 and I don't know if there's much difference between the various years aside from the rosters. And as far as that goes, she hasn't watched the show in a few years so older may actually be better.

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

I don't think it's that bad. They're on Hasbro Pulse for $34 each, which is about $5 less than what I paid for the Takara versions of the TR Targetmasters. Again, I think it's the lack of the cheaper domestic offering from Hasbro that's putting people off, although I don't blame anyone who'd rather...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

And yeah, relative to complexity and size, 3P combiners have tended to be better value. The Seacons are clever and extensive retools but they're still simple CW figures. I love the look of the Seacons too, but there's no way I can talk myself into paying full Takara price for them. They're neat ret...

Re: Your Latest Non-TF Toy Acquisitions

And speaking of X-Men team-building... Marvel Legends 90s Storm You know...she's not all that. Definitely not worth the hype, most of which comes from folks who are happy to finally have the last piece of a full cartoon team. She looks really impressive, but the big hair, cape and shoulders make it ...

Re: Your Latest Non-TF Toy Acquisitions

Marvel Legends Nightcrawler Another home run, honestly. I think he reuses some of the "Pizza Spidey" body, as the proportions are very similar, but if he does they've done a lot of work to it. His hips move way, way more than any of the Spider-Men I own based on that body. His shoulders are a tad r...

Re: Some thoughts on the Marvel TF comics

It's funny, I liked that James Roberts gave the Transformers deep emotional relationships. And from that, its suddenly 'gay robotzzz OMG!', which isn't really what I took from that at all. Folk projecting, I guess ;) Yeah, I don't really see "gay" when it comes to Chromedome and Rewind either. Why ...

Re: Official Transformers new/upcoming releases! Hasbro, TakaraTomy and more

I guess I was just overly optimistic about it. There seem to be so many people out there who are willing and able to drop $200 at a time on third-party figures like it's no big deal, and no shortage of people willing to spend $300 on MP BW Megs and $400 on Prime V3. I thought for sure that there'd b...

Re: Official Transformers new/upcoming releases! Hasbro, TakaraTomy and more

According to the official transformers facebook page (as of ~15 minutes ago), Unicron's kickstarter deadline has been pushed back to October 6th. Anyone else surprised by how tepid the support has been for this? I figured that they'd blow way past the 8,000 mark without too much difficulty. When it...

Re: Toy mould cost and wear, etc

I do wonder how much the process has changed since the 1980s. Back then, I'd imagine there were a lot more steps in the process...manually sculpting parts, then using those to make master molds, then using your master molds to make the production molds. Nowadays I'd assume everything is done in CAD ...
