The Cybertronian Empire

The Liege Maximo

Function: God-King

Little is known of the supreme ruler of the Cybertronian Empire but his name.

He is considered a prime target for assassination.

Overlord

Function: Supreme Commander

The highest-ranking member of the Imperial military and the Liege Maximo's right hand. Overlord is a massive, intimidating being and the lesser members of his army are indoctrinated to obey his words without thought. His motivations for pressing the attack against the Autobot/Decepticon alliance are unclear, but he is clearly the driving force behind the conflict.

Clench

Function: Leader

A career administrator, Clench has succeeded Jhiaxus as commander of all the Empire's forces in the region of Cybertron. But although he has the title of Liege Centuro, his actions are carefully overseen by (and often directed by) Overlord. His overwhelming physical power allows him to win fights without using good strategy. He's quite smart but his skills are more bureaucratic than military. When crossed, becomes quite vengeful and cruel.

Rage

Function: Ground Forces Commander

An extremely intelligent Transformer given to outbursts of brutal violence. Rage's own troops think of him as a monster and his fellow officers consider him an absolute menace. He has the potential to be one of the most brilliant commanders in the Imperial force, but he wastes his life wallowing in addiction and resentment instead of living up to it. But in spite of his horrible behaviour, he's one of the few Imperial leaders who genuinely values his troops.

Stalker

Function: Head of Security

A cruel, twisted Transformer who enjoys double-bluffing suspects into incriminating themselves. He's deeply suspicious of everyone who isn't a Predator, and is always on the lookout for troublemakers. He enjoys confusing traitors and conspirators, making them wonder what he knows and making them turn on their comrades.

Bad Boy

Function: Air Warrior

A depressed soldier who doesn't care in the slightest about the war he was born to fight in. If he could flee it he would happily do so, but he's too afraid of what his commanders would do to him if he failed to try. Nobody realizes how desperately unhappy he is, though. His fellow soldiers just see a flyer who throws himself into battle with reckless abandon, not realizing that he does so because he doesn't care if he lives or dies.

Bug Bite

Function: Shock Trooper

Bug Bite is an addle-brained soldier who speaks about himself in plural and often seems to be completely oblivious to what's going on around him. His fellow Imperials don't understand how he hasn't died yet, since he's small, weak and too dumb to be aware of his limitations. He always seems to luck into survival, though.

Calcar

Function: Battle Analyst

A walking computer, Calcar is practically devoid of feeling. His photographic memory and the millions of years of history he's recorded make it all but impossible for anything to drag an emotional reaction out of him. He is capable of comparing an ongoing battle to tens of millions of past events, both from his own race's history and those that the Empire has conquered, and predicting the outcome based on historical trends.

Colossus

Function: Adjutant

A high-ranking officer who works as one of Overlord's aides, Colossus is a faithful servant to his master. As the spawn-brother of Clench, he is almost identical in physical appearance and abilities and has a very similar personality as well. Like his brother, he's a competent administrator but poor military commander. Unlike Clench, he recognizes his abilities and weaknesses for what they are.

Deathsaurus

Function: Homeland Security

An old friend of Overlord's, Deathsaurus is the supreme commander of all defence forces arrayed around the Hub. He is terrified of the Liege Maximo's wrath, and will do whatever he has to do to keep his master happy. He questions the wisdom of pressing the assault against the first-generation Autobots and Decepticons.

Deluge

Function: Scientific Advisor

A brilliant, patient and completely amoral scientist. Deluge's meticulous, careful approach to science annoys many of his commanders and some of his subordinates as well, but they can't argue with his results. He might work slowly, but the technology he invents and the schemes he draws up make him a major asset. Though he's often off in his own little world, he's very good at making his world into reality.

Drench

Function: Coordinator

Drench is a universally hated bully who uses his position to manipulate even those who officially outrank him. He is second-in-command of the fleet's logistics corps and a dutiful, studious protege to his mentor Jetstorm. Anyone who doesn't let him have his way will find themselves on the receiving end of carefully-plotted retribution. Nobody has killed him yet, because in spite of his odious personality he's great at getting the most out of the fleet.

Fearswoop

Function: Attack Specialist

When you're bright yellow and people still can't see you, it's safe to say you're good at stealth. Fearswoop goes beyond that. He moves about the battlefield like a ghost, invisible until the moment his tracking lasers paint a target with a missile lock. His personality is no less terrifying. His booming voice and the aura of power that seems to surround him inspires terror not only in subordinates but commanders as well.

Garboil

Function: Information Control

A gruff secret policeman, Garboil enforces the will of the Cybertronian elite. He comes off as tactless at times, because he simply does not care about the feelings or opinions of those around him. He is a Cobalt Sentry, they are lesser beings and they will obey him regardless of whether he's nice or not. He is incredibly observant and keenly intelligent.

Hooligan

Function: Hit and Run

Hooligan is a dimwitted jokester, a troublemaker with no idea what is appropriate or who is a valid target for his pranks. He'll sugar a superior officer's gas tank just as quickly as he'll paint-bomb one of his wingmen, and doesn't generate much goodwill either way. He's a pretty decent fighter, but nobody other than fellow moron Space Case is likely to come to his aide when he's overmatched.

Howlback

Function: Enforcer

Howlback is superficially graceful and polite, but beneath the surface she is a hard, uncompromising person. As a Cobalt Sentry she has the unconditional authority to do essentially anything she wants in the name of the Empire, and she and her partner Garboil are all too happy to use it. She accepts no back-talk and will happily flaunt her rank to put subordinates in their place.

Hydradread

Function: Scientific Advisor

As a younger scientist, Hydradread lacks the patience and professionalism that Deluge has. He jumps to conclusions and doesn't use the required amount of rigour in his investigations. This often leads to false conclusions or inventions that don't work. Others often wonder why he even went into science in the first place.

Jetstorm

Function: Chief Coordinator

Jetstorm is a meticulous, detail-oriented person. Tyrannically, grimly efficient, he brooks no disobedience and lashes out vengefully against those who defy his authority. He is one of Clench's top lieutenants, and like his commander he earned his position not on account of martial skills but because of his experience as a bureaucrat.

Magnificus

Function: Researcher

A scientist with little time for the military side of his life. Magnificus enjoys his work for its own sake, indulging in research with little concern for how it will be used or why. A wizard in the lab. When threatened he is cowardly, unsure of himself and dependent on his superiors for instructions.

Overcharge

Function: Detachment Leader

A boring, businesslike Transformer. The troops under Overcharge's command don't find him inspiring by any stretch of the imagination, but he's an effective soldier who gets the most out of his troops, whose lives he values. He is very serious about following orders, and expects the same level of deference from those under his command.

Road Pig

Function: Autobot Harassment

Quite possibly the dimmest of the Imperials who've earned a promotion beyond the green-and-grey shock troop corps, he's a violent thug who makes a habit of starting trouble. He's not smart enough to follow any orders more complex than "stand here and shoot Autobots", so he often finds himself on guard or decoy duty.

Skyjack

Function: Spy

Skyjack is rumoured to be sympathetic to his enemies' cause, but nobody knows if that's true or just a rumour that he's spread to make it easier to recruit assets among the opposing ranks. He is fantastic at digging out intelligence on anything his masters need to know about, but he's strictly self-serving and often withholds information if he thinks it's to his benefit.

Slicer

Function: Massive Assault Specialist

A violent engine of destruction. Doesn't care about anything but battle. Slicer often annoys his superiors by ignoring orders to retreat or causing massive collateral damage. He's hard to get along with due to his hair-trigger temper, but doesn't really like anyone so he doesn't mind not having any friends. If he's not on the front line of an assault, he's not happy.

Snare

Function: Surveillance

A literally fearless war machine. Snare could not possibly care less if he dies, as long as he enjoys himself and takes out his enemies in the process. Most Imperial troopers consider him a crazy loner, but he's close with his fellow Predators and always has their back. His attitude makes him uncommonly dangerous in spite of his non-combat role.

Space Case

Function: Air Recon

Fleet of foot (and engine), but slow-witted. Space Case is a good, obedient soldier, but his brain limits what he's capable of accomplishing on his own. His blazing speed and incredible firepower keep him from being captured or destroyed. Often found with Hooligan, thoughtlessly following the other Cyberjet around and helping out with his pranks.

Treads

Function: Armoured Assault

Treads is a deeply intelligent soldier who is bored of the routine, tedious work that he's asked to do. A crowning example of the Imperials' poor resource allocation, he has one of the keenest tactical minds of all the troopers in his unit but is relegated to grunt work instead of the command position he deserves. He's sarcastic and openly questions his superiors' orders since he knows that he knows better.

Windrazor

Function: Squadron Leader

Amoral and dedicated. Though he's a solid tactician, his idea of "acceptable losses" is defined very, very liberally. He is willing to sacrifice anything, including his troops' lives and even his own, in order to achieve his goals. Victory is more important than survival and destroying the enemies of the Empire is his only goal in life.
