I saw that figure too and laughed my @$$ off when I did. It is just so completely, totally, utterly wrong on so many levels.

That figure's based on the Mountain Dew Commercial from the first movie.

Now do Dewbot!

Spoken like someone who hasn't had to endure the trial of working retail.

Saw ROTF Deluxe Soundwave and BB today at my local WM. Didn't get them becasue I've been having a real hard time dealing with the recent price jump. I mean not so long ago Deluxe's were only $7.77 at WM.

Probably not news, but there ya go. They've had their TF section pretty bare for weeks now, just a bunch of Animated toys and empty pegs. I'm sure they've been keeping that space available for the upcoming release of their "secretly held" ROTF stockroom supplies.

Aye. Never worked retail. Worked in an movie theater concession and I currently work in student records. I got tantrum throwers in both, but it's a bit more understandable when you're dealing with someone's food or their record that they need for a job (it sucks because we do need them to make a written request for these records. Though it's much easier these days since we can accept faxes).

Toys surprizes me. If a store can't sell something because of a contract, and is keeping it in the back room then there's no reason for someone to get rude about it.

All I can say about Jetfire is that I want him. ROTF "Jet Optimus" as I'm calling it may just surpass Cyb. Optimus Prime Sonic Wing mode in awesomeness. As for that new Scout, I'm sorry, Baron Ransack Von Joy, you've been outdone in obscure alt. mode choice.

I was quite surprised by the alt mode size of Jetfire! when i showed my pops, and he is a big fan of that alt mode in particular, he thought it'd go for something like 300 dollars because of how friggin massive it is. i told him nah, it's way cheaper than that, and his mouth dropped. anywho, i am amazed at how well made that toy is looking and may buy that one because i have always been a fan of that airplane

THAT IS COMPLETELY AWESOME.
Always wondered if they would make a coffe maker. Or a blender. Or a stove.
Make 'em happen Hasbro!

The toaster reminds me of Scowl's shell...but in a really bad way, which isn't saying a lot. Poor Monstructor and crew, I always thought they had potential in a weird sort of way

Default Revenge of the Fallen

Hi, this is David from Perth Australia.
The new line of Transformers have hit the shelves.
And I have picked up Starscream Voyager class.
I am really pleased with my purchase, except for one minor detail.
On the packaging, it says that the missile launcher pops out/forward.
Yet it is fixed and molded.
On the display pic on the back, it clearly shows the launcher black with a groove where the connectors join.
Now, they have done this in the first release with Ratchet, saying "Automorph Forearm Cannon"
Also, on Soundwave, it says "Cannon converts to blade"
Are they refering to the proto versions?
Also, having done an excellent job with redesigning Starscream, why not redo Ratchet???

And let it be known that there was a transforming toaster, and that Hasbro had forever forfeited the excuse to put anything out because it potentially wouldn't sell well or that retailers were not interested.

I'm not saying that I don't think it's cute and that I won't buy it. I'm just saying that the brand has completely eclipsed the design for the first time since, what, 1986 or 87? Whenever the Monsterbots came out.

The RJ Mars in my local Shopping center finally got the preview figures sometime last week.
SPOILER! (select to read)
I got Soundwave the other day, and I almost wish I hadn't thrown out the receipt. He's even shorter than Jazz, has way too much kibble for a movie figure (the same parts have nowhere to go in all three modes), and I think one of his alt modes was a last-minute fanwank on the designers' part. Plus, the faux head sticks out like a sore thumb in all three modes, his robot mode torso flattens itself out every time I look at it, and its overall design makes it painfully obvious that he was initially meant to have an entry mode like Protoform Optimus and Starscream. As for the Ravage Missile, I never thought I'd see a "pet" accessory with less color and articulation than the Scorponok minifigure. furthermore, Soundwave's robot mode color scheme matches that of the Optimus Primal (bat) figure from the first wave of Beast Wars. Comparing him to Blackout and Barricade (both of whom stemmed from earlier Soundwave concept designs) only makes his flaws more apparent.

That said, the figure isn't all bad. I like the robot mode head design, and the collar panel in front of his neck is a feature that seems perfect, despite its simplicity. The way the legs fold up to form what I presume to be the primary signal receiver of his satellite mode is another positive. In jet mode, he almost looks like a stylized decepticon logo given physical form, and the three panels that form the jets wings and nose are immediately recognizable as solar panels in satellite mode; the jet mode has visible afterburners as well.

All in all, not the worst figure that I've ever seen, but it's a prime example of wasted potential. I really hope he gets an earth mode in the film.

I'm starting to like the alternate mode choices for ROTFL more and more. Ransack, Toasterboy...

When's the line hitting shelves? Now?

The release date was scheduled for today, though I probably won't see them locally for at least another week.

Ironically, after that last post I checked Play.com and found a stack of ROTF figures for sale, shipped in 24 hours:

http://www.play.com/Gadgets/Gadgets/...9163386&pid=-1

Including Deluxe Sideswipe, Sideways and Rampage, and Voyager Starscream and Demolishor.

Needless to say, an order has been placed...
