As goofy of an idea as those are, the texturing is really fantastic. That looks like a genuine shoe. At a glance, you'd figure that's a rubber sole and canvas top. Impressive.

These things are so stupid.

A shell-former Shoe-former.

"Autobots, Transform and wait for someone to put you on so we can Walk Out!"

Takara is way out on a limb here, and I am not ashamed to say these are one the worst ideas for a transformer in a long while.

The robots are kibble-iscious. Makes X-Brawn look like a perfectly proportioned robot.

Dumb, Dumb, Dumb.

We get Classics to hold us over until we get kick ass robots in a new kick ass movie and the poor suckers in Japan get "Shoe-Formers". USA for the win.
Come on and wind me up.

Call me crazy, but those do look pretty cool.

Wouldn't buy them, but I'm glad that they are out there.

You know, in my Transformers tastes, I could perhaps be accused of being a little stuck-in-the-past, maybe even a "Geewuner" (though I don't think I'm quite that bad). But - I think that these look really cool! I appreciate that they're trying something radically different with the transforming concept. This is the first movie product (not that I've necessarily checked out all of them) which I'm actually kind of tempted by.

Nothing to do with the movie, this is just Japanese engineers being left to their own devices. There are kids like that who live on my street. You give them a few sheets of paper to draw anything they want, and they give you back all of these pictures of BMWs with awesome mags and ejaculating penises and I-Pods and shoes. This is nothing like that but I've got all these kid's drawings up on the wall, you see.

If they made a pair (left and right shoes), I'd get them.

But they don't. Because it's just one mold with two different heads. BOO!

My God, I think you're right. It's a sad day when Optimus and Megatron are remolds of each other.

I actually think the robot modes are pretty cool looking. My main objection would be that they're identical. Optimus as the sneaker works pretty well. But I would like to see Megatron as a Boot or something heavier. The fact that Megs is a repaint with a different head is a little disappointing. But otherwise cool, odd, but cool.

I appreciate they were trying to do something different with the concept when they made Longtooth. It doesn't stop him from sucking like Jenna Jameson on double-time.

Ah, so you're saying that your objections to the sneaker alt-mode Transformers are based on the individual merits (or lack thereof)of the product, rather than formed from a fundamental aversion to change.

In other words, this isn't a case of "TRUKK NOT SNEEKUR!!" ;)

This has got to be one of the daftest ideas in a long time. Is anyone actually gonna buy these? I can see them being shelf warmers and not much else, even though the robot modes are quite nice.

Maybe if they had made a pair that combines upon transformation into a single robot? That'd be much better.
