[Devil's Due] G.I. Joe vs Transformers IV: Black Horizon
Ye gads, I had no idea the first part of this was out this week. I haven't read it yet, but a quick flick through reveals Wildman's art is thankfully on song at least. And Monster Pretenders!
I'll ask right now: If any wonderful peeps wants to help me with the Joe idents for my (emmy award winning) review, I'll massage your feet for you.

Well, I must be the only one reading this then. It wasn't arm in the air brilliantly daft as AOW, and Wildman's not going to draw moths on background characters if it'll be to much trouble, but we have some enjoyably daft fun here.
Though of all the Joe's in the last mini, would Firewall really be the only one ready to go rouge with Hawk?

Wow. Just.....wow.
What garbage! What utter garbage!
I will not be buying the second issue.
I deserved this, really. I keep buying these crossovers with false hope, and out of all the ones done from Marvels to this current crappy installment, I have been disappointed.
I think I'll check myself into a self injury clinic now.

Rouge? Rouge? Now that I just gotta see! Must pick issue one up and examine their make-up carefully... Oh, I mean the Joes in the team, of course...

I have this and I note that it is a two-parter. Two...parts... There goes the whole premise of the rest of the series. Interesting how, without metal technology, the inhabitants of Cobra-La were able to communicate so easily with Unicron and threaten him. The only bit that grabbed me was the question as to what happened to the Autobots in the shuttle on the seabed and has Jazz bought the astrofarm?
Will get issue two, if only to shake head sadly.
And only Hawk wore make-up. Contacts, at least.

God knows how there going to wrap it up with just one more issue. Deus Ex Machina, enter stage left (Although, as we're dealing with Unicron, it could be a very literal Deus Ex Machina ending) And speaking of which...Unicron, being threatened by the ridiculous losers that were Cobra La is the dumbest thing I've seen since watching Carnage in C Minor. And I've sat through beast Machines! And also, as excited as I was to see Bludgeon, that excitement faltered when I saw him taking orders from a bunch of humans. Heres hoping he goes Kill Bill on them with that sword of his, in the next issue.

I bought this yesterday.
And rather enjoyed it.
No idea about the backstory, but hey, who cares?
Did find the whole Hawk 'given powers by the Matrix' bit pretty daft, but it redeemed itself with him downloading traditional Cybertronian songs into Bludgeons head.
Was aondering when Unicorn was gonna make another appearance, and what is with that freaky snake-woman?

Go to Tesco and purchase the G.I. Joe movie for the princely sum of £1.97 from the childrens' special offers section. Prolly on top shelf out of reach of the smalls, since the staff have no idea what it is, but the cover pic has cartoon gunmen on it.
Surely someone has reviewed the preceding story arcs?

The best bits of issue 2:
The fact GI Joe could have escaped any time but didn't. Cosmos saving the day. "KUNG FU GRIP!!!!" meaning to punch someone in the face rather than say, grip them. The Discworld homage ("OOK OOK OOOK!").
Not quiet as fun as the Art of War, but entertainingly daft still.

Not overly impressed with the art, but then I've never been a big Wildman fan. The story was pretty much as expected for this series... in fact, the best thing about the series was seeing the Adventure Team in action. I used to have a Mike Power (Atomic Man) figure many moons ago - the nostalgia wave that came with those opening pages was pretty impressive (shame poor ol' Mike bought it ) Also, anyone who knows me will know of my pleasure at seeing Battle Beasts grab some panel space.
