I could be wrong here, shocker, I know :D, but isn't comparative advertising illegal in Germany. I heard that somewhere and that kind of advert. strikes me as funny like that.

Comparative advertising is stuff like:
"Come to KFC, it tastes better than McDonalds".

Having Beckenbauer digging up some prejudices is not comparative advertising (unless he's trying to sell humans, and that in itself is already illegal) ;)
