Anyways I kinda liked the trailer. It looks like it contains the extended conversations that mix in any of adult humour/social observation/pathos/sex jokes/funny swearing/obsession/misunderstanding which is what makes a Kevin Smth film work.

New Kevin smith film: Zack and Miri make a Porno.
I've known about this one for quite some time, but this is the first time I've seen the trailer. I simply cannot wait, I am a huge fan of Kevin Smith and all his movies, the man simply does not make bad shit in my opinion. Like Blitz said the addition of some of the Judd Apatow guys will certainly make it a stronger comedy in the long run. The trailer already had me laughing out loud.

I became interested in him after I read his comic run on green arrow, and fell in love with Clerks, Mallrats and Chasing Amy. I base my whole religious perspective around Dogma.

Too True. I find most of my female friends disliking films from both of these crews (except one, but she's different). With all honesty, the first time I watch this I'll find it incredibly hilarious; the second time, not so much. Same way Superbad was for me. I laughed my ass off when I saw it in theaters. Have you ever actually watched a Kevin Smith movie? There is far more to one of his scripts than fart and poopy jokes and T&A...actually there is more or less no T&A in his movies with only a few brief exceptions.TFVanguard wrote:Same old jokes, new movie?

And I'm just loving how you already know that the movie is going to have the "same old jokes" even though it hasn't been released yet and you haven't seen it. That reminds me an awful lot of how you preached for months that the Transformers movie was going to be a huge failure even though you had never seen it, going so far as to publicly make a monetary bet that it would not reach a certain milestone in sales. And then continued to say how bad it was even after it was out, despite the fact that you admitted having never seen it because you couldn't afford to pay for tickets.
I would also like for you to point out just one movie from the 80's that had the plot of two friends making a porno to pay their way out of debt, and then has them basing the porno on Star Wars.

The trailer had the same old porn jokes in it that have been around for ages. Honestly, I think they first made those jokes back when making Deep Throat. As for a porn parody where Star Wars was the target of choice for the porn itself.. well, there are a bunch of real porns that targeted Star Wars in one way or another.

I'm not taking anything personally, I just hate to see people making fools of themselves. You actually skirted around the question I asked, have you seen a Kevin Smith movie? I suppose I should have also been more specific and said for you to please point out a movie from the 80's that had the same plot, that is not a porn itself. Alot of people seem to think this is gonna be just another Judd Apatow style comedy, mainly because of the inclusion of Seth Rogen (who has to be Apatows main man now, cant think of anyone who has appeared in more flicks) but this is strictly a Kevin Smith film, its written and directed by Smith, stars some Smith stalwalts and is produced by all the Smith usuals.
Kevin Smith has always managed to craft a style of comedy which is all his own, what the characters say and how they say it is such an individual thing for Smith films, and its something that has always set them apart from other comedies for me, and its something I look forward to an awful lot with this next one.

I just get a sense that this is going to be superb. The trailer is great, the cast is super and it's perfect and fresh subject material for Smith to focus on.

Is it wrong that I want to see this movies based upon three factors? 1: I find Elizabeth Banks to be devilishly cute. 2: I'm a Kevin Smith mark? 3: Certain networks will only call it Zack and Miri...because the phrase "make a porno" is just too controversial and the minds of children all across the US may implode?
