Street Date Lifted for Transformers Movie Toys

Post by DX-7 »

Apparently stores can release them before june 2nd...Awesome!!!
This would explain why people are finding them randomly in some stores.

Yeah, since the TF toys are completely stripped from local Targets (aside from SW:TF) now, I imagine it won't be a full month before they start putting the 'already in the store room' movie toys up.

By the time we see them here, though, most will be out elsewhere anyway.

Wow!

I can't wait~ My room-mate is going to hate me for the next couple of weeks because I'm going to be flat broke.

At least I'll have the new TF's

This will help ease the anxiety. I need to make room in my room for these TF's.

The Super Target in Webster, TX had some yesterday. I don't know if they had more earlier, but when I was there all they had was Bonecrusher, Brawl, and Swindle (and of course Protoform Starscream/Optimus Prime).

So, I got myself a Bonecrusher and Brawl. :)

Very cool but...well, some parts are made with "softer" plastic and it's kind of hard to get them to transform properly. Bonecrusher, for instance, has many gaps in alt mode. And Brawl, some of his plastic is warped slightly, so his front end has a sort of twist to it. Very annoying.

Robot modes look great though!

Not so fast...

http://www.seibertron.com/news/view.php?id=10263

"We reported a rumor that the June 2nd street date for Transformers Movie toys had been lifted. The previous report was indeed rumor. Today on Transformers.com, Hasbro posted the following message:

"June 2nd On-sale Date Still In Effect!

To clear up any confusion, the 6/2 on-shelf date for Transformers Movie product is still in effect and is not being lifted. The only movie products that are allowed to be on-shelf before that date are the two Movie Deluxe Figures (Protoform Optimus Prime and Protoform StarScream). Only 22 days to go!"

Heh, it may not be as formal as all that. Officially, the street date may be 'Jun 2' as a promise by Hasbro on when the toys will be out in stores as a Maximum, rather than 'all stores must hold off until Jun 2' requirement.

So.. no idea. :)

Do you, or anyone, have the Target stock numbers so I can check stock at my local store?

What are the stock numbers? Where would I find those?

Now the Target in Kemah, TX has them too. Adding to the list I've seen is Wreckage, Jazz, Barricade, and Bumblebee.

I think that Wal*Mart and Target got ticked at the 'mandated' clearance of non-movie merchandise while having to wait for a 'mandated' street date for the movie stuff.. resulting in a LOT of empty pegs right during the height of the summer toy season.

Congratulations. I went to 3 Targets and they did get the press release in 2 of 'em. Neither one would release them. The third had none in stock.

Where did you get that number? I drove there today and what they pulled out of the stockroom was the protoform figures.

Unfortunately, since they're the same size class, the protos share the DPCI number.

Well, the local regular Target still had a poopload of the protoforms on the shelves, but also had a couple of Swindles and two pegs of Bonecrusher. Didn't pick either up, though.
