Schmidt gone from IDW?

Post by Grayfox »

Found it here:

Like the first poster on the TFW2005 board, I'm not sure if this is good news or not. I like Andy as a person, but the comics under his reign, in the past 2 years were pretty meh.

They need someone, and I quote “with very strong editorial background as well as someone familiar with the comic industry, preferably someone who has worked in the comics industry already. Even better is someone who has experience working with creators and licensors and has a myriad of strengths that would be applicable to working on monthly comics (strong attention to detail, strong proofreading, good story sense, ability to meet deadlines and enforce deadlines, good with creators and other such things we will discuss with candidates).”
That's almost to easy to rip the piss out of isn't it?

Good riddance really, the man was constantly incompetent in basic editing skills and showed nothing but contempt for the people buying the comic.

Are they hiring? Or are they going to find somebody else in house?

And if they're hiring, who do I fake compromising photos involving llamas of to get said job? :D
As a professional tanuki (I'm a Japanese mythological animal, and a good luck charm), I have an alarm clock built into me somewhere. I also look like a stuffed animal. And you thought your life was tough......

Furman would be a good choice for editor, but I bet they wont think of him...

Good riddance. Anyone who comes up with crap like Continuum despite being with TFs from the start of IDW...

Although this means Carlos Guzman will get the whole shebang, does it not?

Christ, are they letting Furman name their staff now? Carlos Guzman is only marginally more likely a name than Hunter O'Nion.

I hope that, in tribute to Schmidt's editorial skills, IDW retcon their official history so that his replacement has always had the job.

Was he the one who stitches Al Pacino up at the end of Carlito's Way?
