Amusing things from those covers:
Prime's neck [sequel to the Arcee intro?]
Bumblebee's giant feet
Blaster stikcing his gun in the base of Prime's spine
The Insecticons being knee-height on Megatron
Megatron's tiny deformed cannon ["It was shrinkage, I tell you!"]
The hilarious "perspective" drawing of Bruticus, who must be bending backwards at about 45 degrees in that picture...
The chrome detailing on Optimus [again he has extreme suntan lines on his boobs]
Someone tell me who the orange dude is. Becuase I've got a wonderful feeling it's Spike in a ****ing exo-suit.

What's wrong with it?

Well, they DO form his vehicle front...

And the reason he couldn't be pointing it beside him is...?

Who says they're not allowed to be that size? They do turn into insects, ya know.

It's not the size, but how you use it.

I don't see anything wrong with it.

So? I don't have a problem with this. *

It's bloody huge, not to mention ludicrously exposed in a battle situation...Originally posted by Bombshell

So they're the same size as the rest of his body, which forms the other 2 thirds? Wow, that makes about as much sense as Blair's line on the war in Iraq...
Well, they DO form his vehicle front...
Good point, but it exposes another piece of dodgy art work - Blaster's standing considerably closer to us than Red Alert, and yet Red Alert's gun is closer than Blaster's.
And the reason he couldn't be pointing it beside him is...?
And Blaster turns into a tapedeck, yet he's the same size as Prime. YPB?

£10 says it isn't draw consistently to be that size in the mini-series.
It's not the size, but how you use it.
Then you have as much problem with perspective as Lee does. The 'shot' is level with Megatron, meaning that unless he was leaning back, we wouldn't be able to see all of Bruticus as we aren't 'looking' up.
I don't see anything wrong with it.
The fact that it looks ugly is enough of a problem for most people. Oh no, should I be scared? Get out more.
So? I don't have a problem with this. *

So? Maybe it's because of the way that he decided to draw it for the cover.

See Issue 3's Autobot cover? Same thing.
OK. I can't explain that.Originally posted by Quicksilver

My point being is that apparently Pat Lee has what is known as "creative control", which means he can draw them however the hell he wants...apparently...Originally posted by Quicksilver

Maybe it's just for the cover, but who the hell cares?Originally posted by Quicksilver

And how do you know he ain't standing on a higher ledge? I mean, Soundwave and a bunch of others are in the way...Originally posted by Quicksilver

I've never read the Dreamwave run, but I've seen the covers. I'm sure someone here once said Pat Lee draws all his transformers as if they're posing, and that there's very little feeling of action or movement. I can agree with that statement looking at these two pictures.
Also, if the idea behind stopping crap being foisted upon us is not to buy it, is anyone here not going to buy the Dreamwave second series on this principal? as I understand the first wasn't looked upon too favourably by many fans.
The only reason I didn't buy the Dreamwave run is because:
- No money
- No shops around here that would sell them (But I could have ordered on-line, so it's a poor excuse).
- Despite the art looking brilliant, I guessed they would never be as good as my imagination.
The third point held true, but it could not be said of the 'War Within' issues, so I lost out dearly there.
The fan in me would want to buy the first or second issue to hope it gets better, and perhaps then I would be a little too embroiled and just carry on.

Despite all I've said, as long as it isn't too inconvenient for Josh, I'm going to give the first 2 issues or so a try, as it won't really be a lot of money, and as I'm generally phasing out of buying the toys [if I see something nice at a nice price I'll go for it, but I don't tend to hunt figures down like I did a year or so ago] I'm willing to give it a go - partly because I don't want to get caught out if it is any good, and secondly because I'd like to assess it for myself. Part of me is hoping they've learnt from their mistakes in the first series, but to be honest there are enough sheep buying 12 copies of each issue and posting at the DW art telling Pat how they wank over his drawings to convince DW they didn't actually make any mistakes.

I love the little Insecticons! Just felt the need to share that... but why is Grimlock with Megs' group anyway?Originally posted by Zath
Also if you look, Grimlock is on the decepticon's side.

In the past week, I wasted forty bucks to get the TPB, Armada #1 and Armada #2, because I didn't have G1 #2, G1 #3 or the Armada issues.
In all, I've spent about $90 bucks on the DW comics thus far, and will have spent another $40 or so by the time my birthday rolls around...where it will start again...
So, no, I won't.
