Call me ignorant, but who's Zemeckis?

I've heard the name, but can't recall what he's done.

Wasn't it back in August or September when Don Murphy said specifically that Zemeckis turned down the offer to direct TF?

I recall talking about the Zemeckis rumor months ago...in fact, his involvement was speculated soon after the project was announced.

Well there's a big surprise.

You can call me cynical if you like, but I'm not gonna believe this thing's even happening until I see ads on X-E.

.......Okay, maybe that's going a bit far. But There's no point in speculating and drooling just because someone's perhaps, maybe, sorta given us a lead.

Hey guys, I've heard something that says Kubrick's gonna be directing! It must be true, Nelson verified it!

In related news, Transformers producer Don Murphy revealed at his official site that "we're closing in on a writer and choosing to go with a younger guy who grew up with the mythology.like all of you fans. Should be announced in the coming weeks. DreamWorks and Spielberg very much still want the film for Summer '06 so it'll be hard – but GOOD

Well that's good, I guess. I'd rather they take thier time and do it right, than rush it along and have if all half-assed.
