The Touch on American Dad

Post by TFArchive »

Well, I was watching American Dad (I know, hold the groans) they had a scene where they played the Stan Bush's The Touch.

I have put a copy of it online so you can check it out.

Enjoy

I LIKE IT!!!!! :D
As a professional tanuki (I'm a Japanese mythological animal, and a good luck charm), I have an alarm clock built into me somewhere. I also look like a stuffed animal. And you thought your life was tough......

I really like American Dad, it stepped out from under Family Guy's shadow (the latter having well and truly jumped the shark)
As for the Cleveland Show . . . its just sub-par family guy episodes where the voices are different. It has no reason to exist.

Well, one reason.
IT HAS A BEAR!

That is awesome.

While we are on the subject, can anyone one tell me where I can found that version of The Touch Stan Bush made last year? The mellow one with the rap that should of stayed out of it, I've been craving it for ages, but I can't find it anywhere on the boards.

ROTFLMAO

[edit] the guitarist's face in the sequence at 3:03 and the, erm, "splashing liquid" effect get me every time.

Poor Stan Bush.

Nice to see that pleatherette jacket still fits after all these years.

Honestly, when I hear "The Touch" I still get chills. We didn't have a lot of money growing up, and I didn't get to go to the movies a lot, but my parents made sure I got to go see Transformers in theaters.

I think I will love that movie no how old I get.

I don't think that's ever, ever going to stop being the greatest thing ever.

"You got the teeeeerch" at about 1:07 is the bit where you realise this isn't just going to be bad, it's going to be Hitler-bad. The complete lack of dignity and self-awareness the man has is just gobsmacking.

And yet I've probably heard that now more than any number 1 this year. So who's the real sick man, Bush or me?

I've actually managed to avoid watching that until just now.

The whole of reality has just been ruined for me.

Don't expect us to feel bad, we've already suffered and there's no reason you should get out of it.

You could always break out da funkto wash it away. Sho' nuff! It doesn't work as well if it's not on vinyl with the bass cranked up and shitloads of reverb, but you get the idea.

The whole sense of smug satisfaction on their faces throughout is just mind boggling.

The sequence where everyone else is trying to look serious and sad and epic only for Clive James to ruin it with a big honking "Look ma! I'm on telly!" grin on his face may well be the peak of human achievement.

Aye, they genuinely think it's ****ing awesome. At least the Fast Food Rockers went on to get proper jobs...

He's all things to all people. Like the Mona Lisa smile.

Remind me, did Stan's heroic effort to get onto the ROTF soundtrack work out for him? Or did paramount sue for using clips in his video without permission?

I hope they didn't. Doesn't it count as legal under the heading of Right To Parody?
