What could delay the shipping of a toy that came out in 1984?
Come on and wind me up.

Well, technically it's the 1987 Soundblaster version of the mold (which has last been reissued by Takara last year). Hasbro still had to safety-test the mold for a US release, decide for the paint masks, set up the paint masks, design the packaging and whatnot. Y'know, it's not like they kept the assembly line ready for another run of Soundwave for over 20 years.

Besides, it's not certain whether Soundwave was ever actually supposed to come out this year. TRU's website is not really reliable. "Swerve" anyone?

Next year? But that's weeks away. OH THE HUMANITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have my Soundwave, losers. In fact, I have two. One for me, and one I could give to someone else, but won't, because I'm such a bastard.

No, wait, the other one's the Go-Bot. Sorry I called you all losers, I've been not sleeping right or something. Please let me back in :(

I said 1984 just to see which know it all would correct me first.

You obviously missed the irony in it all.

If you were a bastard you'd have kept up the pretence and sent Denyer the Go-Bot, laughing as you did so.

"What are you saying? I don't understand you!"

(Funny that this is obscure though it's the setup for one of the most oft-repeated comedy routines in recent history...)

Edit - like I can type...

"Well what on earth does that mean?"

F**k me. There goes one of my gift ideas, as well. The b/f was aware that I might not be able to get his gift til Jan, but Feb. [or later depending on when it comes out here] is way too late.

Not that I dont like g1 soundwave (deffinatly one of the best g1 toys ever made) I am still a bit gutted as when i first heard about a classics soundwave i thought they might have done a re-make like with the other classics line. (rodimus, grimlock, jet fire ect) Now that would be awesome.
