It's possible, if their stock is Western. Because this appears to have turned into a Hasbro/Takara joint project, there's a good chance the ones coming over will have English on, so a good question to ask for differentiation might be whether they're packed in boxes with Japanese on.Originally posted by Neuronutter
I'm assuming that the ones listed on play.com will be modified. Anyone know?

I am actually intrigued as to the UK situation. According the HLJ the orange cap applies to US orders only.
Obviously with all the stuff happening in London at the moment, it'd be no surprise that if HM's C&E opened it on a random inspection they'd probably blow it up.
Though they make no explicit mention of UK models being altered. I can imagine quite a lot of disgruntled customs from Europe/UK if their products are modified as it's not sold as described for those territories.
Could be fun.

Well I'm intrigued by the situation as it applies to entire rest of the world. As far as Finland goes, there apparently are no laws requiring very real-looking softies to have any orange or other garish colours on them, seeing even some major chains sell them.
Only thing that really concerns me is the whole 'Hasbro informing customs about counterfeit product'-thing. That's something that COULD happen globally.

Certainly UK specialist shops had no problems selling reissue Megs with no more than a "This is not a childrens toy- 14+ Only" style sticker on it, so i assume the same would be true for this.

I could be wrong, but I don't recall this being an issue when the original 1984 Megatron was reissued twice within the last five years (not including the color variations). True, it is small but it still resembles a real fire arm.
Honestly, is this even an issue at all, or is it simply fanboy hyperbole causing an unnecessary chain reaction?

But all those reissue were done for the Japanese market, where the lasw about realistic gun replica's aren't the sme as in the US.

True, but weren't the reissue Megatrons still imported to the States. I was just wondering why it's suddenly an issue now when it wasn't one before.
1) There were several online retailers that did NOT import TFC Megs. The ones that did were doing so at their own risk.
2) One reason why it's an inssue now. One word: Movie.

So..with all the hoopla going on about this..and all I've read on various boards...I've seen no one mention anything about the actual technical specifications of this orange cap. Is the thing at all removable? It is just going to be inserted into the end of the barrel? Glued on? Is it going to completely ruin the figure to remove it? Does anyone know the answers to these questions at all?

Well since no one HAS the figure yet on hand, most suppliers probably have no idea of HOW they will do it at this point.
In fact, there's pretty much nothing we actually can be certain of until the figure comes out.
EDIT: Also, a shot of his back. Dunno why they stalled it this long, though.

Ah, so he will have the exposed hinges and what not on his back, just as the original had. I figured as much, judging by the earlier "blueprints". The backside doesn't look too bad, the hinges seem to match the rest of the torso, etc, area - they're not all that noticeable, anyways.
