RQ: “Trist” - With Marvel joining with Dynamite Entertainment for Army of Darkness vs. Marvel Zombies next year, can we take it as an indication that there may be more big company crossovers down the road? I keep hearing rumbles about a possible Avengers vs. Transformers crossover with IDW (which would ROCK!), anything you can say on that?
Nothing earth-shattering, just more hints. Not entirely convinced if it would 'rock'...
On July 5th. The Robots in Disguise take on the Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
Launching the same week as the Transformers movie, New Avengers/Transformers is a four-issue miniseries just announced at Joe Quesada's Cup 'O Joe panel at NYCC. It pits IDW's successfully relaunched Transformers against the House of Ideas' flagship team.
I'd be mildly interested to read that, but only if it was some sort of alternate reality were characters from either faction are allowed to die. But if it happened, it wouldn't be that, would it? Captain America would decapitate Megatron with his ****ing shield, wouldn't he?
The Marvel Zombies series was a huge hit, so I could see that crossover happening. I was actually hoping for a continuation of the Zombies.
Maybe a cross between Marvel Zombies and Transformers could happen! Just picture Optimus Prime eating Megatrons leg. That would be awesome! Or better yet, Grimlock eating Wheelie!
Well bugger me, it's true - looks like they're trying to crowbar it into continuity for both sides. Maybe they could carry it off if they let Bendis deal with it, but we'll see.....

Wow, I can't believe this is true. Seems a little unreal. Well any publicity is good, so hopefully this'll increase exposure. Can't see how it couldn't.
oh my .....too bad its bland old new avengers. id give my left nut for a busiek/perez penned proper avengers/transformers.
as it stands id be more excited about a jla/transformers team up as they arent made up of batman, nightwing, shiva, richard dragon, karate kid and superman.
. "Hawkeye's the best! Hawkeye's got the cutest eyes! Hawkeye's got some kinda butt! I swear, Ralph, ever since that blowhard joined up, all I hear is Hawkeye, Hawkeye, Hawk...."- Green Arrow, JLA/Avengers #3.

As with all Transformers stories, the question is what universe?
Transformers is set in real time, Marvel isn't. The Transformers Marvel universe ends with G2 (and Alignment if you wish, though not specified) in the 1990s. So my theory is this will introduce either be an interdimensional story or a new universe, or maybe an introduction of Cybertron in the traditional (616) Marvel cosmology.
Wow -- four pages and a political argument, too! (Will not get sucked into that...will not...)
Just a few clarifications: Wolverine is definitely in the book, which takes place (Marvel U) between the first two story arcs of NEW AVENGERS, pre-CIVIL WAR. In the Transformers universe, we're setting this between the INFILTRATION and ESCALATION miniseries, right after Optimus Prime has arrived on Earth to take command of Prowl's team.
I remember that Spidey has met the Decepticons before...but the Transformers universe has kind of been rebooted since then, so we probably won't reference it.
As Bill Rosemann said at the panel last night, Ms. Marvel and the Falcon are there for "aerial support" against the Decepticons.
As for Marvel villains: The story takes place mostly in Latveria...so you do the math. Let's just say there's "more than meets the eye" going on here.
Yay. If this thing sells more than seven copies, expect a line of ever more insipid TF/Marvel crossovers. Can't wait for Transformers/New Warriors myself...
