How come the IDW release roadmap stops at 2010?

Also is there a complete listing of Transformers comics...like a check list so that I can mark the ones I have and see the ones I need?

Welcome. Yeah, sorry, I should probably take that down, as well as the solicitations link. Haven't had the time (or the inclination, really) to go through Diamond release lists every week or so. Real life's been thoroughly getting in the way.

Blackjack has been keeping the main index updated for linking of reviews, and they're clustered by continuity -- i.e. the top left is stuff IDW regards as in their main continuity; http://tfarchive.com/comics/idw/

By this point I'd really recommend against trying to collect individual issues, or even trying to be completist about IDW's own continuity, because the quality became very variable after a few years. They also did themselves no favours by failing (as far as I know) to produce an official reading list for people to keep track.

I collected the US Gen. 1 when a kid and I have not kept up with the storyline or the comics for years and years. Question...are the individual comic books series eventually complied and published in the Trade Paperbacks?

They're generally pretty good about keeping things in print as TPBs, including Marvel and Dreamwave* material as well as their own. Not much Transformers fiction really links together, even the stuff that originates with the same publisher and is supposed to. On the one hand it means there's probably something for everyone, but on the other there are so many different continuities and timelines (some with only slight variations) it's impossible to keep track.

If you like Marvel US stuff, you might like IDW's "Regeneration One" series by Simon Furman. It's set after US #80 (it ignores Marvel US G2 and the Marvel UK comics.)

Otherwise, I'd suggest picking up the Last Stand Of The Wreckers trade paperback or the first volume of More Than Meets The Eye (both of those series written by James Roberts).

*Realised I should add a footnote on that: Dreamwave had the Transformers comic license briefly, about ten years ago now. They managed to start a bubble for 80s nostalgia comics before going bust in a very messy way.

Nice, thanks I will look into them. I have some of the TPB's and there isn't much flow to them...I thought it was that I did not have all of them in the correct order.

Regeneration does interest me. Are they in individual comics or in TPB's?

If you felt like collecting any individual issues, Geoff Senior has been doing retailer incentive covers. Although I haven't followed the series, got a nice print of one of them (#84) at AutoAssembly last year.

Essentially IDW have given Furman twenty issues worth of page space to tell "the story he always intended to" (which is a bit of a stretch, it's obviously influenced by other stuff he's written since then.)
