Wal-Mart worker dies in Black Friday stampede

NEW YORK - A Wal-Mart worker was killed Friday when "out-of-control" shoppers desperate for bargains broke down the doors at a 5 a.m. sale. Other workers were trampled as they tried to rescue the man, and customers shouted angrily and kept shopping when store officials said they were closing because of the death, police and witnesses said.

Wow.I'm at a loss for words.I knew that people would go bonkers to save a few bucks, but this going off the deep end.

I know it's happened before.but I haven't seen a stampede of this brutality in a long time.

This happens every Black Friday, and it's not that surprising. People are greedy bastards most of the time.

Bastard-like behavior or not, no need for a stampede. But of course this is the hype over Black Friday. Just today I went to Champs and bought 100 dollars worth in hoodies for 54 dollars through a buy one get one free offer that was pretty good standing. Could I have saved a little more on friday? Prolly, but I have anger issues towards people that are like what mentioned in that article..

The fact that they still were shopping even though police were closing down the store because of that is amazing at the lack of human decency anymore. And so what if the item they were looking for was gone, they could have bought it earlier and saved time and stress on it. I think that is why some stores I go to have their coupons, that are equivalent to black friday prices, use-able on the 8th of December or so. I also observed here where I live that there weren't near as many people on the roadways since most of people anymore use websites to order things rather than spend gas and have stress at a store.

Black Friday is essentially the day after Thanksgiving where all stores have their "big sales" in anticipation for Christmas.

Horrific lack of human decency, and yeah, I've heard reports too that a number of shoppers refused to leave the store even when informed of what had happened, disgusting behaviour.

Well, I guess this shows how impatient some people can be.
I just don't understand how these people could have let that happened.
