What is the Rarest transformer toy ever produced?
Hey everyone!
I was just pondering something - is there such a thing as a rare transformer toy, ie: a TF so hard to find that people would immediately, without question, want to acquire, through fair means or foul?
Is there such a thing, or is that just the whimsy of an avid fan, like myself?
Is there an elusive "Holy Grail" transformer that is worth chasing and hunting for, limited in its production and availability, sought after by all who know of its existence?
It would be interesting to know what people consider a TF rarity, and from which series would this rarity would come from.
Let the perusing begin!
(BTW: This topic has probably already been floated - if so, it can be locked tighter than Davy-Jones' Locker!)

Rare is subjective a lot of the time. By which I mean that what many people consider to be rare might be quite common by other peoples standards. All depends where you're looking.
There are loads of TFs that have only been produced in single figures, however. The majority as competition prizes. An example that springs to mind is the pinkish redeco of BT Meister that was on exhibit at a Mazda show fairly recently.
*waits to flambé anybody mentioning blue Bluestreaks*

I remember seeing a picture of that once and it wasn't so much pinkish as it was more a mish-mash of different colors. Some pastels and iirc, some grey as well. Regardless, the damn thing looked uglier than Hell with that paint job. It's rare, but it's a really damn ugly rare of a great toy.
Rare TFs that go for a lot of money? Off the top of my head, I would say Grand Maximus, Bumblejumper (saw one go for $1000+ on e-bay awhile back), and prototypes.
And the rarest of them all -- blue Bluestreak (that was for you, Brend ).
Thanks, Zeeks! Great job!

I would really like a reflector but he seems rather hard to come by.
EDIT: I might be able to track down a grimlock and swoop here in ohio, I could put up an ebay auction with a buy it now of price with sales tax and you pay the shipping, that way you don't have to worry about it all being legit since I am pretty new around these parts.

Was RC, from the movies a rare TF? I have never seen any version of her produced. although I'm sure I'm there is a toy out there somewhere.
G1 Arcee never had an official, transformable figure though I think there was one custom made one. Nevermore, Denyer, or someone else can supply the details. There was also a TM2 Blackarachnia repainted to look like G1 Arcee, which I believe is a Botcon deal. There were a few Armada minicons named Arcee. Finally, the only officially released Arcee happened in Energon.
Thanks, Zeeks! Great job!
