I bought a Roadbot! Rewatching Thew's Knock Off Beatdowns made me morbidly curious about these, and I lucked out on one off of ebay for 4.00 with shipping. It's the 1:18 scale Toyota Celica robot from their Robot Warriors line with lights and sound (both of which were so annoying I took the batteries out). The robot mode is pretty nice looking, there's some articulation, but it can't make much use of it, due to all the car parts getting in the way. The transformation isn't so far off Alternators Tracks, just with less elegance and some odd parts removal and reassembly (the bonnet, the door skirts). Getting the engine block and bonnet in place is a right rigmarole which sucks a lot of the fun out of the figure. The vehicle mode is rather nice, and the detail and finishing is good.

Thanks to my lovely wife, Marvel Legends Human Torch. I was a bit leery because of how badly the all-clear Iceman turned out, but Johnny here is a much more solid figure. Trans-orange looks way nicer than blue-white, so he actually looks "fiery" instead of looking like he's made of chewing gum. And also unlike Iceman, his joints aren't soft or loose at all. A pleasant surprise all around.

Now bring on Reed and the Thing! Er, and F4 She-Hulk would be great too.

Hotwheels 1:18 '60s Batmobile
A surprise present from my parents for Christmas! They don't normally indulge my silly toy habits, so this was a lovely thing to get. It's a really great model, and I love the Batman and Robin figures seated in it (Robin on the Batphone). The glossy paint, diecast and level of detail and finishing are superb. I'm very impressed

Several things came my way over the holiday.

Got a teeny-tiny Lego First Order Heavy Assault Walker in my stocking. It rocks! Spot on little model of a cool looking Star Wars vehicle. And it's little legs move around to boot!

Also Lego (and also Star Wars) got Yoda's Jedi Starfighter from ROTS. Comes with Yoda (obviously) and R2-D2. Haven't put it together yet, but it looks really fun. It'll pair nicely with my one for Anakin Skywalker. Hopefully I will have some time to put it together tonight.

Also Star Wars (but not Lego), got a Black Series 3.75" Lando Calrissian (from ROTJ). Every time my wife heads to the store she asks if there's anything we need, to which I usually reply 'Transformers'. This usually gets a 'NO' response. So a while back I switched it up and kept telling her I needed a Lando figure as part of our grocery list. And she got me one! I've yet to open him up, but he looks pretty solid.

As part of Amazon Canada's Boxing Day sales, ML Old Man Logan was marked down pretty significantly. I think I paid $12 or $13 for him, where the normal retail price is $30. He's a really impressive figure and I'm glad I have him, though the retail price was too much to swallow for a figure with zero accessories and no BAF parts. At the price I paid, though? Totally worth it.

Lego DC Comics Super Heroes 76086 Knightcrawler Tunnel Attack.

Lego Batman Movie 70913 Scarecrow Fearful Face-off.

Lego Batman Movie 70917 The Ultimate Batmobile - This was on clearance, so I figured I would pull the trigger on the batmobile and grab the other two before they disappeared.

Walmart had some blind box vinyl figure on clearance, so I grabbed all they had of the two franchises I was interested in.

Attack on Titan (6 boxes) - I lucked out, here. I got 1 each of Eren, Mikasa, Reiner, and Annie. My only duplicate was 2 Levis. Going by the side of the box, all I missed were flocked Levi (whatever that means), and janitor versions of Eren and Levi that I don't care about.

One of my Levis came with a Female Titan head. I got all the regular figures I want from this wave, so I can't justify trying to track down more in hooes of getting the matching body. Anybody got a Female Titan body they want to trade for a Levi? Or sell?

Master of the Universe (5 boxes) - I wasn't so lucky, here. I was mainly hoping for Tri-klops, and would've liked Trap Jaw and Skeletor. Instead, I got 2 Beast Man, 1 He-Man, 1 Teela, and 1 Evil-lynn. I have a larger Beast Man from a Happy Meal 10 years ago; I may make these new ones his minions.

I snagged a Marvel Legends Vintage Series Black Widow this week. The figure is pretty basic -- the standard ML female body in black, with Natasha's signature belt and wrist blasters. The only accessories she comes with are two pistols, though that's just about all I could think of to give the character anyway. The fact that this series omits BAF parts really makes you think they could have sprung for an extra head or some alternate weapons or holsters, though.

Some folks have complained that her head is a reuse of the one in last year's Spidey/MJ two-pack, and I can see why that'd be jarring, but since I don't own the previous figure it doesn't bother me. I don't think that reusing unmasked faces is a great idea though, in general. The characters have a bad enough case of sameface in the comics, without that creeping into the toys!

But overall I'd say it's a nice figure. It's definitely the only one in the Vintage line that doesn't feel like a complete waste of money, because it's the only one that isn't just a tweaked re-release of a one- or two-year-old figure that had more accessories and a BAF part the first time around.

Diamond Select Gotham Selina Kyle
One of the strange things about toy stores closing down is the random stuff that shows up. Retailers use it as an excuse to off-load stuff from across the company that's been hanging around unloved in storage for ages. So as my local TRU sadly winds down, so some flotsam and jetsom they've never stocked before shows up. Which in this case is this rather excellent figure. The diorama she comes with (fire escape and section of wall) is useless without the corresponding Jim Gordon figure, so I might leave her in package, but the figure itself is fantastic. So many nice details - the wrinkled jacket, goggles and torn jeans - and a striking likeness to the actor who plays her, plus a pint of milk (just to signpost that she's going to be Catwoman someday. And is probably a quirk of the character in the TV show - haven't seen it. Even though cats shouldn't drink milk, what with the lactose intolerance, but anyway...). Basically, this is ace and well worth the 6.99 I paid for it

DC Comics Icons Mister Miracle
Down the road at Smyths, they're getting rid of the two characters they carried from various DC collector lines. They had Terry Dodson's Raven figure from their artist series, which even at 3 I passed on as it looks so weird and mis-proportioned (massive hips and a really oddly shaped rugby ball head that looks like Hey Arthur) and Mister Miracle, who was going for 2. He's a really cool looking figure, with a nice metallic paint job, some interchangeable hands and some other plastic stuff that I don't understand.

Marvel Legends Enchantress
Bought on sale from ID Toys in December (along with Polaris and Deadlock, the package went astray, but they managed to track it down and send it onto me ), she's a really cool looking figure. I love the design of her tights and skirt. The face and hair look great and I like the add on power snot swirls. Only minor criticisms is her neck is fixed sloped forward, which makes her look a little hunched over and she's a pain to stand up.

Marvel Legends Polaris
I know nothing about Polaris, but she's always looked really cool, so I was stoked to pick this lady up. I think she uses the same face sculpt as Enchantress, but her green make up gives her a totally different look which I like. Nicely prop-portioned with some good articulation and flat shoes, so she can stand up The cape is nice and I like her really snotty looking swirly power blasts. Nice!

Marvel Legends Avengers 3 pack
From the shop of random surprises TKMaxx for a not too shabby 19.99, this packs in 3 Avengers from Marvel's recent age of diversity. So, we've got a nice looking green and red Vision, then the Sam Wilson Captain America, which is really cool looking and the excellent Kate Bishop Hawkeye which, for me, is the standout figure of the set. She has a nice headscuplt which is full of character, I like her simple Purple outfit and her cool fingerless gloves. The quiver is nicely slung around her waist (I'm sure this is impractical) and she has a nice fancy modern looking bow. Even her boots look great. For a set I was a little on the fence about and bought on whim, I really like these three characters and am very impressed.

Marvel Nano Metalfigs Gamora and Spider-Gwen
These things have been popping up at Supermarkets lately, and I thought I'd have a punt on them. They're pretty good for 2" tall figures! Nicely painted and detailed and good value for 2.00 a throw. Nice.

Marvel Legends Sharon Carter
Nice, white catsuit clad figure of Sharon. Quite simple, not especially flashy or exciting, but she's good. Has a very angular face though, and the space gun is rubbish.

Marvel Infinite Series Captain Marvel
A great looking figure (I love the more modest costume Carol has) with some very tidy and clean paint apps. Marred by having a slightly wibbly looking left leg.

Marvel Infinite Series Spider-Man Noir
Star-jumped take on the design that is good, but misses the trenchcoat the character wears. Not bad for a few quid on clearance though.

Marvel Legends Mockingbird
Man, I love this figure. She looks really good. I like her outfit and the boots she has. Good articulation and the batons/ staff is a neat accessory. Just a shame she's cockeyed. She'll be keeping the shades on.

Marvel Legends Demolition Man
This guys looks brutal. I love the tough looking skull mask...with his wee fleshy ears poking out. That's funny, and an obvious flaw in his armour. Which is also very nice. I like the black and silver paint job. Puzzled why his weapons are burgundy and yellow though. Surely laws on toy guns have got that silly...?

On the weekend I picked up the DC Multiverse Batman Forever figure batsuit. I'm actually really surprised that they made this. It's not the new costume that they made a huge deal about at the end of the movie, which is what most people would think about when they hear a Batman figure is being made from that movie. No, it's the normal Batsuit from the first half of the movie, which...well, I'm a pretty big Batman fan, I watched the movies a ton when I was a kid and I didn't even realize it was different from the costume in the first two movies. Taking a close look at the figure now, the only really notable differences are a slightly different bat-symbol and a black belt instead of a yellow one. And the Batman/Batman Returns suit is way more iconic, so I really have no idea why this is even a thing at all.

But it's a good-looking figure. And -- as was noted by someone else in this thread a while back -- Mattel really do seem to be trying to modernize their articulation scheme. Batman has modern, Marvel Legends-style ball joint hips and double knees, which make him both much more pleasing to the eye and much more poseable than any of my previous figures of the character. It's obvious they're still experimenting to see what works and what doesn't, though, because the figure wound up with mostly-useless articulated toes but no side-to-side ankle movement. Unfortunately, even though they modernized the figure from the waist down, the upper body is still the same single-elbow, single neck joint arrangement that they've used since before the DCUC line was a thing.

Apparently this is considered a "premium" figure, but the price was exactly the same as the usual Multiverse stuff. He comes with a lot of accessories, though. The huge combined base/flight stand has almost as many parts to it as the figure itself. He's also got swappable hands (a first for Mattel figures that I've bought) and a grapnel gun. The cape is fabric with a vinyl feel to the outside, and while I'm not usually a fan of fabric on figures this size I really think it's the way to go for capes. Otherwise they're just too heavy.

So overall, I'd have to say this is the best Mattel DC figure I've got. For the first time, I can actually say that it's comparable in quality to a modern Marvel figure!

Lego Ninjago Movie 70629 Piranha Attack
The Ninjago Movie sets have all seemed a bit hit and miss (but mostly miss) outside of the larger sets. This daft thing though is brilliant. You get a Piranha mech piloted by a Shark Army Thug, Kai and Misako (in Iron Dragon costume. It says here) and Ray, who pulls the rickshaw. The design of the mech is brilliant. It's so goofy and silly looking; I love it. It doesn't have much in the way of articulation - just being able to open and close its mouth, but for imaginative play I don't really think it misses anything. Besides, those skinny legs add to the comical look of the thing. The details are great too- the silly periscope, missiles and teeth, plus those excellent eyes are all great and there's a nice printed console piece for the driver. The rickshaw is also excellent. It's a really clever and detailed build; I like the lamps hanging off the back and the large cart wheels (last seen in the Lone Ranger theme). There's a bunch of stickers to slap over both builds, but they're fairly large so even fumble fingers like me can manage them . The minifigures are all great. I like Kai's silly over the top stylized manga hair and Ray's look of terror. They're also all nicely printed, although where lighter colours are carried over to darker plastics the look isn't so great, with Misako's face looking a bit dark as it's yellow paint printed onto a black head piece (I'd have preferrred they just kept the whole head yellow). Overall, this is a fun set and one of the best from the Ninjago Movie line and makes a nice companion piece to the City Chase set (70607).
