hmmm...

Cliffjumper 2006-01-25 04:11 PM

I might buy the Millenium Falcon. If I ever get depressed I could probably just sit there and laff at it, thus cheering me up. Or making me track down anyone associated with its' production and fire a rifle up their arsehole. Either is good.

[EDIT] for spelling

RID Scourge 2006-01-25 04:17 PM

Ooh! Looks like Rumble is the first Decepticon to have his own mold before an autobot got it. Not only does he have piledrivers, but he's RED!!! Man, I can't wait for him. :D

RIRFIB!!!

Wildrider 2006-01-25 05:09 PM

It lools ok can't make much out apart from Rumble's big forearms which is a nice design to tie in with his piledrivers, if that was the intention.

Honda Civic Go!

Now we can have a purple one for ratbat, a lilac one for frency, Eject, Rewind.....repaint city!

Smart move commercially.

I hope they twist to hang down a bit rather than sticking out to the sides, though (like Grimlock's can, for instance.)

Ratbat? :wtf:

Now, the question is, who would be a remold of this guy? It doesn't really leave much in the way of obvious counterparts, in my opinion. No point in wasting a remold on Frenzy when he can just be a straight up repaint. I guess you could do Eject and Rewind, but they don't really match up to that robot mode.

What other robot modes have no hands but big huge club like things in place of their hands?

Darth Zax 2006-01-25 06:12 PM

i just noticed rumble's chest and shoulders look like a casette.

Cyclone_X 2006-01-25 06:44 PM

and there we have our already announced Honda Civic :)

now, Takara, move your behind and say you arent quitting BT

Sociopathic Autobot 2006-01-25 07:13 PM

Rumble is Blue. The comics and Japanese are just crazy.

Q: Will there be any UK exclusive transformer toys?

A: Cannot say but Hasbro are working on their next Alternator which is a JAGUAR sportscar (he said that honest) after the ford GT

Hasbro UK didn't want to release Prowl or Skids is because, "There are not many Integras and Scions plying british roads" A bit stupid since they seem to be interested in Prime whoes a dodge RAM
this is the most nonsensical reason i've ever heard, like someone sees a cool transformer but is like "too bad it's a car i don't know, or else i would've bought it." add on that we in the the netherlands got smokescreen, swindle and windcharger, while i've almost never seen a subaru, jeep wrangler or honda in the netherlands.

Blacknife 2006-01-25 07:58 PM

If that SW:TF is being touted as a "deluxe", I assume that's going to be the equivalent of a Ultra in TF {two $15 figures being thirty}?

Yeah... well... The only problem with THIS thread is that it's got that rediculous Falcon in it. :P

optimusskids 2006-01-26 10:30 PM

Ok who do we think fits a Jaguar Alt ?

Ah but as the old saying goes, "Its better to have a thread with a Millennium Falcon in it then a locked thread containing old news"

Yeah yeah... my mistake. :P

For some reason, I got locked on the Falcon and didn't catch the bit about the Alternator. IT was just so.. so... terrible!

Depends on whether they pick a saloon or a coupe. For my money though, I reckon Mirage is most likely

As an aside, seeing as Prime has now made an appearance in the line, how much longer before we see Megs? Or a Seeker for that matter.

Mirage is already the Ford GT.

Jaynz 2006-01-26 10:52 PM

The Jaguar should be... Sureshot! With a repaint of Archforce! Make 'em COMPLETELY a UK fanwank! :P

(All of two people get what I'm talking about.)

Eh, I would seriously look to the names that Hasbro's either secured or have been trying to secure in the past couple of years. G1 references, most particularly, but not neccessarily.

Sir Auros 2006-01-27 12:36 AM

Ugh, those arms look like everything I hated about RiD Brawn-X only two times the horrible.

I really hope the actual robot mode looks better than that when it's done. Who really wants the front and back ends of a car for arms?

Actually, it kinda suits Rumble, when you consider it, though he doesn't look quite right for an Alternator in that pic for some reason. I'm going to wait for a proto or something to make my mind up, though.. but, since he's an alt, I'll get him. :P

T.V. 2006-01-27 01:04 AM

Silver Jaguar XK - Runamuck?
Black Jaguar XK - Runabout?

Runabout used to be a (Brittish) Lotus Elise, so...

It suits the character, but as you said, it doesn't look good as an Alternators figure. I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt because that's just concept art, but having the whole front end of the car as one of the forearms is not my idea of aesthetically pleasing.

inflatable dalek 2006-01-27 12:25 PM

One thing this toy does have is an obvious repaint- Blue. But also called Rumble to keep everybody happy. Bar those crazy Frenzy fans, but no one should listen to them anyway.

tahukanuva 2006-01-27 03:26 PM

I take back my earlier statement that I would buy the combiner, whatever it looked like, because that THING looks awful! Since when does Chewie have engines on his head?

Rumble looks nice though.

Cliffjumper 2006-01-27 03:35 PM

Jaguar? Wow, why not be really British and just do a Cadillac, eh?

Do a ****ing Lotus Elite, dickheads.

Where did they claim that they were doing this the Jaguar to appease upset UK fans or that they chose the Jaguar because it's "British"?

I didn't see that in the Q&A at all...just speculation here.

Hasbro obviously has a good deal going with Ford (Mustang, GT, RX-8). I doubt it goes any deeper than that. (unless I missed something somewhere)

uhm, the RX-8 is a mazda (or did i miss something?).

Cliffjumper 2006-01-27 05:12 PM

So I read between the lines...

Is Jaguar even a remotely desirable brand now? That's surprising, considering Ford's raped the **** out of it, what with turning out models as attractive as their own, and crippling the F1 operation...

Mazda, like Jaguar, is owned by Ford Motor Company.

I'm not sure, to be honest. I haven't really seen that many new ones. For as long as I can remember my father wanted a Jaguar (I expected him to get one at the start of his inevitable mid-life crisis). But, he hasn't really spoken much about them since Ford bought them. <shrugs>

But, to be fair...I do like the look of the Ford GT and the Mustang (these days).
