New Transformers TPBs from Titan Books

| Adventures V1 | Best Of V1 | Adventures V2 | Best Of V2 | Adventures V3 | Adventures boxset |

These books are apparently only distributed in the UK due to specific Hasbro license arrangements, but you may be able to import.

Transformers Adventures Volume 1

Available as of April 2008.

Publisher solicitation: The Transformers-Sentient robots with the ability to alter their form. Hailing from the planet Cybertron where a war between two factions endlessly rages, the honourable Autobots do battle against the tyrannical Decepticons-For the good of the Universe!

In six exciting new stories, Optimus Prime and Megatron go head to head in the ultimate battle of the ‘bots! Who will survive… and who will end up on the scrap heap? Explosive comic strip action and more await inside TRANSFORMERS ADVENTURES!

Notes:

Reprints issues #1-6 of the Titan Movie comic. Stories are pretty much presented exactly as originally published minus the odd “see issue” box (so complete with original titles and credits).

Includes the following features from the main comic: Optimus Prime Profile, Megatron Profile, Megatron Vs. Optimus Prime Smackdown, Jazz Profile, Jazz Vs. Blackout Smackdown, Starscream Profile. There’s also a Transformers 101 guide to the set up and a one-page advert for the comic using the cover to issue 9.

The cover uses the same promotional image as issue #1. The back cover misleadingly claims the stories all are new rather than reprints, and the claim the book features Optimus and Megatron going head to head is inaccurate. Though if you want to be charitable it might be talking about the text feature.

Transformers Adventures Volume 2

Available as of August 2008.

Publisher solicitation: The Transformers-Sentient robots with the ability to alter their form. Hailing from the planet Cybertron where a war between two factions endlessly rages, the honourable Autobots do battle against the tyrannical Decepticons-For the good of the Universe!

In exciting new stories, Starscream and Scorponok make their presence felt… and in the epic “Twilight’s Last Gleaming” Megatron uses the awesome power of the Allspark to rewrite history- in the Decepticons favour! Explosive comic strip action and more await inside TRANSFORMERS ADVENTURES!

Notes:

Reprints issues #7-13, one more than the previous collection in order to contain all of Twilight’s Last Gleaming.

Includes the following features from the main comic: Frenzy Profile , Bonecrusher Profile. There’s also the 101 thing and an advert for the comic using the cover to issue #14 and some Animated Starscream art. From issue #11 the title and credits are changed from the originals in order to remove the recap.

The front cover is the only one to use a promotional image not also used on the front of one of the comic issues. The back cover continues to claim the comics are new, and that Megatron deliberately altered time in the Twilight story when he didn’t, it’s just a straightforward alternate Universe.

Best Of Transformers Volume 2

Transformers Adventures Volume 3

Publisher solicitation: The Transformers-Sentient robots with the ability to alter their form. Hailing from the planet Cybertron where a war between two factions endlessly rages, the honourable Autobots do battle against the tyrannical Decepticons-For the good of the Universe!

With Megatron dead and the Decepticons defeated, Starscream begins plans for a second assault against the weakened Autobots. Outnumbered and outgunned, can Optimus Prime and his loyal soldiers survive through one more battle? Explosive comic strip action and more await inside TRANSFORMERS ADVENTURES!

Notes: Reprints issues #14-20 of the Titan Movie comic, again one more than the first volume to include all of the Return to Cybertron storyline. Because of this, and the increased length of each issue, there’s no room for extra features or the 101 guide.

The front cover uses the same promotional image as issue #3 of the comic. The back cover drops the claim that the strips are new, and erroneously includes art from IDW’s Megatron: Origin (reprinted alongside these stories in the original issues, likely someone opened a page at random when laying out the cover). There’s also a one-page advert for the Revenge of the Fallen comic, using the cover to issue #3.

Transformers Adventures Boxset

Notes: Collects the first three books in a card slipcase, with the cover to Volume 1 on one side and Volume 2 on the other. This may be a Tesco exclusive (it’s the only one of the books out of stock on Amazon.co.uk at this time, and the vagueness of the page title suggests it might be on there from a Marketplace seller who doesn’t really know what it is). It was available in Tesco stores at a reduced price of £5 (compared to a RRP of £14.99) as part of their seasonal offers in the run up to Christmas 2009. If anyone knows more or has seen it elsewhere please get in touch.
