Summary:
Kenji, Hound, Perceptor and Seaspray jet across the ocean on a new mission. Kenji remakrs how beautiful the island they are approaching looks. Perceptor describes it as a utopia. Upon arrival they are greeted by a group of animals, some carnivorous and some herbivorous, all getting along in peace. Kenji is amazed at the perfection of the island. All is not well, however, as a heard of animals stampede in their direction. It turns out the Buildtrons (Constructicons) are excavating the island and effectively destroying it. To make matters worse, Blaster and a team of other Cybertrons are being held prisoner.
Immediately, they radio Scramble City and relay their findings to Convoy and Ultra Magnus. Convoy informs the Airbots that they are needed on the island. Slingshot is less than thrilled since he just doesn't feel like going anywhere.
Back on the island Megatron and Starscream monitor the progress of the Buildtrons. Megatron exclaims that this will be the perfect place to launch Dinobase and the all-powerful Dinosaurer (Trypticon). Dinosaurer erupts from an off-shore mountain and stomps toward Megatron. Megatron commands him to transform to Dinobase. Just then Superion arrives to do battle. In response the Buildtrons combine to from Devastar (Devastator). Devastar gloats about the strength of Dinosaurer. Dinosaurer then grabs Devastar in his claw and tosses him out of the way. All Devastar has time to say is "Wha-what are you doing, you idiot!?" as he tumbles down the cliff-side and falls apart. Dinosaurer prepares to step on a heard of fleeing animals next. Superion dives under Dinosaurer's humongous foot and attempts to hold it up. The animals escape but Superion is left slowly being crushed under the Destron's wait.
Just in the nick of time Metroflex arrives. Superion launches Airraid from his arm to redirect Dinosaurer's attention toward Metroflex. Instinctively, Dinosaurer rushes Metroflex and tries to tackle his foe. Instead, he passes right through him and falls helplessly into the ocean. As it turns out, Metroflex was just a hologram created by Hound and projected to the proper scale by Perceptor. Defeated, damaged and none-too-happy, the Destrons flee the island, never to return. Kenji and the Cybertrons celebrate their victory alongside the animals who can live in peace once again.
Review:
I really liked this issue. For one thing, the art was fantastic. Dinosaurer looks incredible! And you get a good idea of how huge he really is when he plucks Devastar up with two of his fingers and tosses him away like a toy. I feel kind of sorry for Dinosaurer, though. He looks so cool but he's such an awful character. He NEVER wins. In the 2010 cartoon he got beaten by Metroflex every single time. And if that wasn't bad enough in the Headmasters series he got beaten by Daniel and Wheelie in the first episode. DANIEL AND WHEELIE! Now look at him. He can't even beat Metroflex's hologram. Poor, poor Dinosaurer.
