40. The Key to Vector Sigma (Part One)

The Decepticons steal a group of cars to make their own car robots. Megatron and the Decepticons reprogram the cars and turn them into his newest troops: the Stunticons (first appearance). The Stunticons do not have individual functioning personalities of their own like the Autobots and Decepticons do, so Megatron, Soundwave, and Rumble take the Stunticons to Cybertron through the space bridge where they meet with Shockwave. Shockwave tells Megatron that he has plotted a course to Vector Sigma. Megatron tells Soundwave and Rumble that Vector Sigma is the super computer deep within Cybertron that gave all the Autobots and Decepticons life. Megatron plans to use Vector Sigma to give the Stunticons personalities, but Shockwave tells Megatron that Vector Sigma can not be reactivated without the special circuit key. Shockwave tells Megatron that Alpha Trion (from the episode "The Search For Alpha Trion") has the key to Vector Sigma. Megatron and the Decepticons find Alpha Trion's base and easily defeat the old Autobot. The Decepticons find the key and start on their journey to Vector Sigma. Meanwhile, on Earth at Autobot Headquarters, the Autobots have found out about the Decepticons' plan to give the Stunticons life through Vector Sigma and Optimus Prime has Omega Supreme take him and the Autobots to Cybertron. Once there, they find Alpha Trion in his destroyed base and he is badly injured. Optimus Prime has Ratchet and Hoist repair Alpha Trion and he tells the Autobots that the Decepticons have stolen the key to Vector Sigma. Alpha Trion takes the Autobots to a hole that leads to a path to Vector Sigma. Omega Supreme is too big to fit and the other Autobots go without him. Meanwhile, the Decepticons continue their journey through Cybertron's tunnels to find Vector Sigma and they run into Centurion Droids who are programmed to guard Vector Sigma from intruders. Megatron has Soundwave, Rumble, and Ravage fight the Centruion Droids, but they can not be stopped. Megatron gets an idea and shows the Centurion Droids the key to Vector Sigma and they all bow before him. Megatron tells Soundwave and the others that the robots are programmed to guard Vector Sigma and that the key is part of the computer. Megatron tells the Centurion Droids that the Autobots are their enemies and to find and destroy them. Megatron and the Decepticons find Vector Sigma and Megatron uses the key to activate the computer. Megatron tells Vector Sigma to give the Stunticons life and to fill them with hatred for the Autobots and all that they stand for. Vector Sigma gives the Stunticons life and they introduce themselves to Megatron and declare their loyalty to him: Dragstrip, Breakdown, Wildrider, Dead End, and Motormaster (the leader). Megatron then gets the key back from Vector Sigma and the Decepticons and Stunticons return to Earth where Megatron promises them all the destruction they want. Meanwhile, back on Cybertron, the Autobots run into the Centurion Droids and the Autobots retreat to a room with deactivated maintenance robots in it. The Autobots quickly reactivate the drones and send them out to fight the Centurions. The drones fall into a hole and the Centurions follow them and they are all destroyed. The Autobots go to Vector Sigma and discover that the Decepticons have allready been there and gone and have succeded in having Vector Sigma give the Stunticons life. They then go into a room with five old shuttle ships in it and Optimus Prime asks Alpha Trion if the shuttles could be rebuilt and modified to resemble Earth-style jets and Alpha Trion says that it will be very hard, but it might work. Optimus Prime says that since Megatron has created cars to fight the Autobots on the road, then the Autobots will make jets to fight the Decepticons in the skies. The Stunticons attack a military base on Earth and the officers suggests that since the cars don't have drivers that they must be the Autobots.

41. The Key to Vector Sigma (Part Two)

The Autobots have finished rebuilding the old shuttle ships to resemble Earth-style jets and they take the jets to Vector Sigma to be given personalities of their own. The Autobots take the jets to Vector Sigma, but they don't have the key. Alpha Trion says that he has one and says that he will merge with Vector Sigma to reactivate it. Optimus Prime protests saying that that would kill Alpha Trion. He tells Optimus that he is a first generation design like Vector Sigma and that their circuits can interact with each other and Vector Sigma will be reactivated. Alpha Trion tells Optimus that the Autobots need the jets to save the people of Earth from the Stunticons and Optimus Prime agrees. Alpha Trion inserts his hand into the Vector Sigma key hole and the computer drains all of Alpha Trion's energy and the computer reativates. Alpha Trion's body falls to the ground and Optimus Prime tells all the Autobots that he is dead. Optimus Prime tells Vector Sigma to give life to the jets and have them always value freedom and life wherever they find it. Vector Sigma gives the jets life and they become the newest members of the Autobot team: the Aerialbots (first appearance). They introduce themselves to the Autobots as Skydive, Airraid, Fireflight, Slingshot, and Silverbolt. Shockwave spies on the creation of the Aerialbots and reports it to Megatron and the Decepticons on Earth. Shockwave also tells Megatron that the key to Vector Sigma has a different power on Earth and he decides to go test it somewhere. Meanwhile, the Autobots and Aerialbots have come out of the Vector Sigma chamber and are looking for Omega Supreme to take them back to Earth. They find him being guarded by a group of Decpticons and the Aerialbots are sent in to defeat the little group. The Autobots and Aerialbots board Omega Supreme and he takes them back to Earth. When they get back to Earth at Autobot Headquarters, Omega Supreme tells Optimus Prime that his circuits are overloating and that he is about to explode. Optimus tells the Autobots to evacuate Omega Supreme at once and the giant Autobot explodes. Later, Ratchet and Sparkplug are trying to put Omega Supreme's body back together. He would be dead had the Autobots not saved his brain unit. They have Omega's brain put on life support and Optimus Prime asks Ratchet and Sparkplug how long the machine can keep his brain funcitional and Ratchet tells him not long enough to put his body back together. Meanwhile, Megatron and Soundwave are testing the key to Vector Sigma to find out what different power the key has on Earth. They find out that the key can de-energize matter and turn it into metal and Megatron plans to turn Earth into a metal planet like Cybertron. Meanwhile, the Autobots are still working on Omega Supreme and the Aerialbots are getting bored and say that their just wasting their time. Telatran 1 comes on and says that Decepticons have attacked a military base and the Autobots and Aerialbots arrive to investigate. The officers there acuse the Autobots of attacking the base earlier and the Autobots say they didn't do it (which the Stunticons did at the end of Part 1). Blaster picks up five cars moving toward them at high speed and the Autobots realize that it's the Stunticons. The Stunticons attack the Autobots and Aerialbots and the Stuntcons are winning because they are too reckless for the Autobots to handle. Motormaster gets on top of Slingshot and Silverbolt goes to help his fellow Aerialbot, but Silverbolt is afraid of heights and can't help him out so the others have to rescue him. Megatron says he gave no order for the Stunticons to attack and tells them to return to base. The Autobots and Aerialbots also return to Headquarters and Slingshot makes fun of Silverbolt for being afraid of heights. The Aerialbots say that humans are a waste of time and that the Autobots aren't any better because most of them can't even fly like they can. They also say that all it took for Omega Supreme to fall apart was one trip from Cybertron to Earth. Ironhide starts to get mad at the Aerialbots and threatens to beat them up. Slingshot says he wouldn't dare do that because the Autobots need the Aerialbots more than they need them and they all leave except for Silverbolt who stays behind to talk to Optimus Prime. Optimus asks Silverbolt why he was afraid of heights and Silverbolt says that back on Cybertron when he was just a low level cargo transport, that he never got really high in the air. Optimus says that he is going to make Silverbolt the leader of the Aerialbots so that it will give him something else to worry about instead of his fear of heights and Silverbolt goes to bring the other Aerialbots back. Meanwhile, Megatron is usig the key to Vector Sigma in a forest to turn all the trees there into metal and the Autobots hear of his plan and go out to stop him. Meanwhile, Silverbolt finds the other Aerialbots and tries to persuade them to rejoin the Autobots and Slingshot says that they are so much better than the Autobots and the humans of Earth. Silverbolt says that if they're so much better than why don't they take over Earth? The Aerialbots return to Autobot Headquarters and Silverbolt tells the Aerialbots that they will have to fight the Decepticons for Earth and that like it or not, they are Autobots and that all the Decepticons care about is destroying them. Slingshot still says that they are better than any Autobot or human and Silverbolt takes them to the room where Ratchet and Sparkplug are repairng Omega Supreme. Ratchet says that he has to recharge and leaves a tired Sparkplug to work on Omega Supreme by himself. Skydive says that the Autobot ran out of power but the human is still working, why? Silverbolt says he gets his energy from his concern for an Autobot and he tells the Aerialbots that they owe the Autobots their lives and Slingshot says that they got Stunticons to pound. Meanwhile, Megatron is still using the key to Vector Sigma in the forest and the Decepticons and Stunticons are pounding the Autobots until the Aerialbots arrive to help out. Megatron says that his cars have a secret which will rip the Aerialbots right out of the sky and the Stuntcons merge together to form Menasor. Optimus Prime tells the Aerialbots to show them what they got and the Aerialbots merge to form Superion. Menasor and Superion fight each other and Superion defeats him. Megatron, the Decepticons, and the Stunticons retreat but Megatron still has the key to Vector Sigma and Silverbolt chases him to destroy it. Silverbolt knocks the key out of Megatron's hand and tries to destroy it. He can't get a good aim in jet mode so he transforms to robot mode to get a good aim and he destroys the key. Silverbolt prepares to fall to his death, but he is rescued by Slingshot before he hits the ground. Silverbolt and Slingshot find the Autobots and rejoin them and Ironhide and Slingshot appoligize to each other and the Aerialbots are welcomed into the Autobot team.
