G1 Character Profiles
blitzwing

| Personal Profile | Cartoon Biography | Quotes |

Personal Profile: Blitzwing is a Decepticon Triple-Changer, meaning he can change into both a jet and a tank.  This makes him very dangerous because he can attack from both the air and the ground.  He is believed to have joined the Decepticon ranks on Earth in 1985, along with Astrotrain, Dirge, Thrust and Ramjet.  There was never any word on how he and the others got there but it is possible that they were either sent to Earth from Cybertron, or else they were on Earth all along but deactivated during 1984.

Episodes appeared in: DinobotIsland parts 1 and 2, Desertion of the Dinobots part 1, Quest for Survival, The Golden Lagoon, Prime Target, Triple Takeover, Cosmic Rust, Transformers: The Movie, Five Faces of Darkness parts 3 and 5, The Ultimate Weapon*, Fight or Flee*
*Note- These episodes took place after Blitzwing's exile from the Decepticons and are considered by many to be animation errors.

Cartoon Bio: Blitzwing appeared in the cartoon during the second season in 1985.  He was a minor character but was a strong warrior.  In Triple Takeover, he tried to take over leadership of the Decepticons along with his fellow Triple-Changer Astrotrain.  They were eventually stopped by Megatron and went back to becoming normal soldiers. Blitzwing made an appearance in Transformers the Movie.  He was with the group of Decepticons that attacked Autobot city in the beginning.  He was later shown to be one of the Decepticons who fought within Astrotrain about who should become leader of the Decepticons.  There is some controversy over weather or not he was fighting for himself to become leader or if he was fighting for Starscream to be leader.  Many think the Triple-Changers and the Seekers aided Starscream and that's why he was chosen over Soundwave or the Constructicons.  He made a very brief appearance at Starscream's coronation and that was it for his appearances in the movie. In Five Faces of Darkness part 3, Blitzwing was the only Decepticon that didn't join the Quintessons when they came to Charr.  He waited on Charr until Galvatron and his Decepticons came back.  He was later shown during an attack on Cybertron.  Galvatron told him to report their status to their Quintesson allies.  Before Blitzwing made his report he heard the Quintessons plans to freeze all the Transformers and take back Cybertron for themselves.  Blitzwing tried to tell what he found to Galvatron, but Galvatron wouldn't listen.  Blitzwing was forced to tell Rodimus Prime and the two together stopped the Quintessons.  Rodimus offered Blitzwing a chance to join the Autobots but Blitzwing turned him down.  Later after the Quintessons had fled from Galvatron, Galvatron and Rodimus Prime wanted to resume fighting but they were stopped by Blitzwing.  Blitzwing pointed his weapon at Galvatron and said that he will destroy Galvatron himself if Galvatron didn't agree to stop the attack.  Galvatron vowed that Blitzwing would never be welcomed in the Decepticon ranks again and that he would "suffer unimaginably."  Blitzwing was seen in 2 other episodes after this but they are both considered to be animation errors because he is supposed to be in exile.

Blitzwing; Quotes:

"Sometimes it's better to be known for one's enemies."
"Come on down, Auto-Brat!"
"Music, the universal language."
""Enough, this battle ends now.  Or I shall write it's conclusion."
"Tell me what's on your mind. Or I'll splatter it on the wall and see for myself!"
"Why don't you go build yourselves a bridge, and jump of it!"
(That one is pretty corny, but he was talking to the Constructicons)
